I wanted to start a build thread so I deleted my members rides thread and this is what I have done with my ek9 from standard just over a year ago until now:

How the car looked at the start, mint with jap service history and fresh import and it was completely standard

One of the 1st modifications I did was to swap the oem 4.4 final drive for a brand new oem 98spec dc2 4.78 and put a new oem honda dc2 clutch kit in at the same time, the type-r clutches have plenty of bite, great for daily driving and they are a lot more reliable than some aftermarket makes

Old 4.4 still like new

I then put a dc 4-1 on the car at took it to a Dyno day, car made 186bhp at the flywheel so a healthy engine:))

I wanted better cooling so I swapped my oem half length radiator for a dc2 full length, also fitted a dc2 throttle body, spoon n1 axleback, new rear trailing arm bushes. I also fitted a new Honda timeing belt kit and adjusted the valve clearances within spec

Fitted Tegiwa mugen style intake, made a noticeable difference, 4bhp and 4ft lbs on the dyno

At a local Jap car show

The next few mods I did, ferodo ds2500 pads, motul rbf600 brake fluid, full spoon 4-2-1 mani, spoon sump heat barrier, password jdm rear strut brace, beaks tie bar

Got the car mapped recently on a P28 ecu with chrome, made 204bhp 131ft lbs and 25bhp at the wheels midrange at 6k. The car is so much better to drive, the extra torque is great for everyday and the peak power is nearly from 7.5k to 9k looking at the graph

All comments welcome, cheers

4.7 FD is some job id say, acceleration must be brill,
love to see what quater mile time shed set, near 13's id say
steering looks comfy,is it 320mm,
how does she compare with 300bhp scoobs and evos
beaks bar hard to keep clean,?does it sit very low, many ramps around your area

Pearse, cheers and I know the bulkhead in engine bay needs a clean, just havent got round to it and it wont just wipe off. Accel is a good bit better with 4.78 and alot easier to keep on vtec, im hopeing to break 14s 1/4 mile and get into high 13s would be good for a b16b, wheel is 350mm, haven't came accross any scobs or evos yet I would say it might give them a good run to 100mph, a friend had an evo 8 fq300 for a short time and thought my car would maybe have the edge to a certain speed but im not sure.
Beaks bar stays clean but its easy to give it a wipe and if you go slow over speedbumps its fine, aye get your pics up too mate:nice:

lovely car
just throw tfr onto the engine bay and rub it with a brush and a sponge and it comes off so easily

Love it mate, sweet parts and sitting lovelly on the evo's keep it up man :nice:

Thanks mate, they are actually a special edition rota rim 15x7 in bronze and just as light as the evos but about 1/3 of the price and do the job just the same

Very nice man, glad to see those stickers being put to good use ;)

Thanks mate, Its just a digital camera I borrowed, noithin special. Car isn't clean in those pics because I knew it was about to rain as usual:mad:

P28 ecu with chrome - how much does that cost mate?

Mapping is £300 and you can get the ECU and harness yourself or he can supply it so it works out about the same as a 2nd hand spoon ecu in total but this is a custom map for an individual car

Hey mate,

Looks like a good general dose of the fill light filter in the Photoshop RAW importer... :p

This car kinda makes me want a Facelift.........

Really impressive.
Good to see someone being a lil different and getting the most out of the b16b instead of b18c swop.

Have you got any closer pics of the rims with the stickers on?
