Pug 205, 2 litre n/a, 280bhp running on 8x15's for tarmac stage rallying...
Basicaly the dunlop compounds unless they have changed for this year, ran 02, 04, 08, 12 and 22, 02 being the hardest, 22 being the softest.
Generally speaking for fwd the 'norm' is 08's on the front and 12's on the back, which works very well, but the 08's dont last too long, so we have been running 04's on the front and 08's on the rear, (but narrower on a 7 inch wide rim to get heat into them abit quicker as they are at the rear, thats the idea behind it at any rate!)
I say we didnt get on with the 02's, but we have only used them once, so i was alittle quick to judge them i must admit, but basicly at an event last year we were running 3rd overall on an event, running hankook T71's on the front which is an equiverlent of the 08 dunlop, but after 4 stages they were finished, so put a new pair of 02's on the front, and lost 15 seconds a stage from then on and finished the event 4th, just didnt have the same 'bite' on turn in with more understeer, now weather that was down to the compound not suiting our car or just not getting them up to temp i couldnt really say as only used on one event.
I would say they would be fine for you on track as the civic is alot heavier than the 205, plus they will last you alot longer than the softer compounds would, and buying the tyres new is very expensive!!
I have a mixture of hankook and dunlop moulded slicks all ready for when my civic is finished, but that again is for stage rallying, it wont be seeing a track apart from the stage rally at castle combe at the end of the year.
Hope atleast some of that rambling made sence!!
