No need for gloves and they wont grip the wheel very well unless the wheel is seude, I'm sure you could borrow a helmet, and get some track tyres sorted for march ;)

It won't be too loud, I'm sure the spoon n1 is louder than the apexi and mine passed the sound level check:))

awesome build mate :) cannot wait to get ur rotas on my 9 :)

Cheers bud they will look soo good on a silver 9!!

Red Recaros look well, I do agree but I work in a factory and my clothes are usually not the cleanest so red gets marked very easily. I like the black aswell

We tried some 02 compound dunlops on the front and didnt get on with them, generally use 04's as 08's work the best, but go off on long stages and only last about 40 miles.

You should be fine on a track with them tho, what size rim, 7 or 8?

The rims are 7" so a bit on the small side for these tyres but I got them 2nd hand at a good price so they will be fine for a few trackdays

I'm not too familiar with the Dunlop compounds, can you shed a bit of light for me? Why did you not get on well with that compound, what were they used for and what car? They felt very responsive when I took the car down a b-road without any heat in them so I was thinking that they will work well with heat, they seem to pull the car on every groove on the road compared to a road tyre

Cheers

Pug 205, 2 litre n/a, 280bhp running on 8x15's for tarmac stage rallying...

Basicaly the dunlop compounds unless they have changed for this year, ran 02, 04, 08, 12 and 22, 02 being the hardest, 22 being the softest.

Generally speaking for fwd the 'norm' is 08's on the front and 12's on the back, which works very well, but the 08's dont last too long, so we have been running 04's on the front and 08's on the rear, (but narrower on a 7 inch wide rim to get heat into them abit quicker as they are at the rear, thats the idea behind it at any rate!)

I say we didnt get on with the 02's, but we have only used them once, so i was alittle quick to judge them i must admit, but basicly at an event last year we were running 3rd overall on an event, running hankook T71's on the front which is an equiverlent of the 08 dunlop, but after 4 stages they were finished, so put a new pair of 02's on the front, and lost 15 seconds a stage from then on and finished the event 4th, just didnt have the same 'bite' on turn in with more understeer, now weather that was down to the compound not suiting our car or just not getting them up to temp i couldnt really say as only used on one event.

I would say they would be fine for you on track as the civic is alot heavier than the 205, plus they will last you alot longer than the softer compounds would, and buying the tyres new is very expensive!!

I have a mixture of hankook and dunlop moulded slicks all ready for when my civic is finished, but that again is for stage rallying, it wont be seeing a track apart from the stage rally at castle combe at the end of the year.

Hope atleast some of that rambling made sence!!

Thanks for that wooks!

I understand very clearly about the compounds now :nice: I also know what you mean about the 205 being a lighter car etc and a rally stage is alot different to a trackday.

I agree, i think thats a good compound for track days as a best of both as you say.

I may try r888's on the back as i have a new pair that havent been used yet, and i like the back to move around.

Took a few better pics of the car outside with the new daily rims and the inside. I should have the passenger buddyclub seat rail in a week to fit the passenger Recaro Pole position.

Then still waiting on the Mugen baffled sump that I ordered around October last year from TogueDistribution and its still not here:angry: feels alot more stable with the Buddyclub n+ suspension

Anyway, Pics:
