EK Harness Bar

havnt you got a cage mate ? if so prob cheaper if not same kinda cost to have one welded in to current cage, these very rarely come up for sale and arent cheap

I Dont have a weld in cage mate but it might be worth looking at getting something made up aye.

Jonny, Thats good news, any idea of price? I hope they arent going to be anywhere near the cost of the Sparco ones? Ridiculous what they charge for a metal bar

yeh id like one of these as im not getting a cage keep us posted jonny

Can get copies of the Sparco ones off US ebay, being a copy item they will be on par with the Tewiga ones at a guess.....

Anyone know anything about These really? Presume the Sparco ones are FIA approved? not fussed for racing or whatever, just for safety like.

Anyone heard anything about NRG ones?

I looked into the NRG one a fair few weeks ago... trader never got back to me in the.

Also interested on the actual safety of these and price of the tegiwa one....

i looked into nrg, ebay ones etc and could never get answer as to how safe they were so held back from getting one, they could be as good but i just dont know

there all pretty much copies of the sparco

theres company called dg industries in u.s i think that also makes/used to make them, had reputation for very high quality products but imagine pricing will be in between sparco and ebay ones

When I asked speedwaremotorsports about the sparco bar I got this reply:

The harness bar is safe for track days, but isn’t race-approved, so you may need to check with a safety inspector at the track to make sure it is useable. The great part of this harness bar is that it is fully removable, so you can take it out when you are driving the car in town for groceries or anything, and then install the bar and harnesses for some country road driving or hitting the track.

like a non fia harness. Totally safe but not verified

Pretty much I guess... like you say though the Sparco one is a rip off so need a cheaper alternative.

I have the DG industies one in my EK9. It is an excellent piece of kit!:) I will check how much the previous owner paid for it and where he got it and let you know! :)

Looks like we might have a few people interested in these I've also been thinking about getting one so I can have harnesses. Looking forward to the info if I find anything ill post it here too.

can you not use the standard ek9 eyebolts to fit a harness?

Thats what you do use, the harness Runs out of the seat over the harness bar and down to the Eye bolts, its to give you the safest angle of the harnesses.

Come on Traders... we need a GB. :D

The previous owner of my EK9 got my DG Industries Harness Bar from Import Auto Performance in the States (Import Auto Performance Ingalls, SPC, Omni-Power, Skunk2, Volk Wheels, Tein Suspension, Greddy, Neuspeed, HKS, Tokico, Import Auto Parts, Import Car Parts, Honda Part, Performance Part, AEM) for $375.83 in 2008 that was £299 at that time and shipping fees was £76.83. dont know what the price would be now.

cheers

That harness is mounted in a VERY unsafe way :wow:

As dunsy says, harness bar is there to GUIDE the harness in at a better angle, belt should be mounted with suitable eye bolts to the rear seatbelt mounting points

mounting a harness straight down like that vertically is hugely unsafe, harnesses should not be mounted to the seat mounting points as in a serious crash you could rip the seat mounting point out. Also with the belt like that, the harness bar is working as more of an anchor than a guide ;)
