Describe your items for sale properly!

This is totaly out of order, i would be mad as a wasp if i had recived that!:nono:

How about if the seller refunds you the money & postage one way & you just pay the postage to retun it???
I know you should not have to be out of pocket at all but mite be the best way to get this sorted!:secret:

Another rip off merchant from Motherwell Lanarkshire, sorry to hear abou that. Be well aware of buying anything from anyone from around that area, seems like they're all on the rob. At least you got something for your money, I just got robbed of £60, Paypal wouldn't do anything and no-one was willing to help me track him down.

Lanarkshire/Glasgow is blackmarked for me now.

 that's got to be 50% off the forum users :))

Yes I realise that! :D

I realise there's plenty of people there that are sound but there are certain groups of people that I won't deal with, and I've too many negative experiences dealing with people from that area so I won't be doing it again.

sorry to hear that kozy...
hopefully your mate will work wonders on the seat.

It really annoys me when people justify things by saying you got it for £200 and thats less than i payed.....

if anything is around where i live mate IE East anglia...
In Future i will happily go and have a look for you mate. thought is there if you ever need it.

This is very sad for me to read. I`ve selled dozens of items over the internet and not once i have tried to mislead or hide facts from potential buyers simply because i would be ashamed trying to explain why there were flaws to what i presented as "in good working order, like new" etc. I`m not speaking personally for Mark -i don`t know the boy- but how can someone that actually cons and rips people off their money feel good for themselves. And one last thing: just to avoid these situations, when contacting the seller i always ask for further and detailed pictures from different angles shown in the original add. one reason is to avoid similar things happening to me as Nick, and second to make sure pics on the selling thread are from the actual for sale item and not picked up from google trying to sell damaged goods or thin air!

don't tar lanarkshire or glasgow people with the same brush we're not all out to steal/blag/con people out of their money

imo the guy sounds like a total d*ck. I'd be wanting the refund and the seller to reimburse all postage costs

None of their business is it! I wasn't expecting anyone to go running around after him, but it would have been nice if someone had offered to help, all I wanted was an address.

In contrast, when someone on Civiclife got robbed by someone from the isle Wight, the locals round here went on a mission to track him down, check his car over for the stolen parts and report him from the police.

Local mentality differs from one end of the country to the other by the looks of it.

Sorry to hear of this. It is irritating to say the least when things like this happen. Hope you get something sorted!

That was a completely different situation mate, as its been said a few times, the Isle of Wight is a relatively small place where most people know most people. Put the fact in that the lad drove a modified car, someone was bound to find out who it was. In your case, it wasn't as easy because of the fact that Glasgow is a big place. IMO, its quite ignorant to disregard the whole place full of con men (i know thats not what you called them, but thats the only word that comes to mind just now). And dont worry, im not from Glasgow, im in Edinburgh and everyone i've bought from in Glasgow has gone out of their way to help me.

To the OP, that really sucks, i would try to get a refund and maybe half of the postage cost back?

Not cool mate.

So if i had a bad experience with a sale from someone from your area i would be "wary" of dealing with you ? na man...

Sorry to hear this happenening to you.

Iv had no problems dealing with people from Glasgow. And not all Glasgow people are like that, and Glasgow is pretty big.

Here's actual footage of Gav trying to rob a Tesco Metro:

Remember to hold onto the gun next time Gav! :D

Mark has not tried to pull the wool over your eyes. He has offered you a full refund. I understand that you are not happy. I would be annoyed aswell but all this thread is achieving is an internet slagging match. These matters should be discussed in private.

imo the guy sounds like a total d*ck.

Who the hell are you? Get a grip, have you even met the guy or heard his side of the of the story? I wouldn't imagine Mark saying that about someone he'd never met before. IMO you sound like a D*ck :nice:

Nice story...I would've helped if I could, as would plenty of the other Glasgow members. I don't know where the guy who took money from you stays and neither do the other members on here.
Get a grip and move on.

Your ignorance is offensive

I apologise, that bit was a bit emotive. I take it back.

Not cool mate.

It's not just him though, I have had problems with other people from that area, even a 'reputable breaker' from the area has been a bit evasive with me recently, I'll be ousting him in public too soon if he doesn't sort it out. In general, my experience of dealing with people from Glasgow has been negative, and that is not emotive, that is a fact. It puts me in a position where I do not want to deal with people, same as I will not buy cars off a certain group of people from the Birmingham area, or deal with people who talk in text speak. When I have a 100% record of getting stung by a certain demographic, I become wary. To hear another person has had trouble from someone in the same town just adds to this wariness.

Get a grip and move on.

I wasn't expecting anyone to 'track him down' for me as such, I PM'd several people who had also dealt with the guy and who probably would have been able to tell me where he lived if they had posted stuff to him, but everyone was a bit cagey about it. I suppose it was to be expected, sounds a bit dodgy when some stranger starts asking for the address of someone you've dealt with and I do appreciate that, and I'm sure my opinion is offensive to some of you, I'm sorry if I have caused offense but the whole situation riled me right up.

this is how every single racial dispute throughout history was started becuase people tarnish a group of people with the same brush for something an individual may have done
You simply cannot live your life that way....

don't get me wrong mate i think you're a clever guy, you always say it how it is and alwyas have very informative things to say.
