suffering with some floods up this way, and this morning my mate took this picture of a ek9 conked out in one of the floods

the car is an rx and it was on sale on here a little as a few months ago

i test drove this car at the time and decided it wasnt for me, but from what i remember the car had a tegiwa intake on it so i assume it just sucked the water in that way which isnt the cleverest thing to do, its now owned locally as ive seen it driving about

It's not that deep lol. I would of pushed that out even if it killed me.

but he has already past the worst of it, a rough estimation the water must of got as high as the front grill and the water got in through the air filter

That was me a few years ago. Can be fixed with £500 of new engine, no biggie really.

CAIs are stupid for this reason though. No other cars struggle with that amount of water, but searching for that extra .5bhp leaves you with a POS pipe that sucks up conrod bending amounts of water in as little as 6" of water. So not worth it on a road car.

After that, with a new engine in it, I got myself a stock airbox and never worried about it happening again.

I can't believe someone would rather ruin the engine then turn round and take the long way round, I dread to think what his matenance is like lol, I wouldn't take me daily through a puddle let alone my 9 hence I've only drove it twice since I've got rest of the time it's under lock and key.
