Crashed my EK4 really bad yesterday, nearly died and nerly killed my friend.

smashing anything thats only done 30k is gonna be gutting. sorry for you man glad your ok. Was this your first bad smash? Everybody has to get it out their system sooner or later.

chin up, just think of the drinking you can do now :)

ridiculous statement all together :angry2:, nobody needs to experience this to learn from it ive learned from the stupidity of others and lost family to this kind of thing, so like the chap said let him be the example so nobody else has to "get it out of there system"!!!

yo man, sorry to hear this. makes me so sad TBH becuase when you joined the forum it was really great to see how much passion and love you had for your car, i really do feel for you mate as i too haven't had the best of luck with my car's :( ..

DO NOT Let it get to you.
I crashed my saxo VTR the day after i passed my test with my GF in the car
I Got smashed into head on in my escort with 3 mates in the car , i've crashed a golf MK 2 with my Best mate in the car, smashed my fiesta up by hitting a badger with the same guy who was in the golf ( yep the first one i saw in the wild in my life i Hit lol ) My saab 9000 caught fire, Ive crashed a Volvo 480 again with the same guy that was in the fiesta and the golf , and i i've been smashed into in my last EK4.. and then hit a deer in my current EK4 the other week..

I don;t drive stupidly. in fact i have never crashed when i was driving fast or hard. always really random times.. from cross road's to corners to round abouts to oil s***** ( wtf why does it star out s p i l l 's ) and wild animals you name it and i've had an incident with it lol.

So as you can see it has not detered me from enjoying my car's.

I'm not trying to be cool by saying this BTW.. just thought i'd let you know that it happens man...

Ask anyone hwo has been in a car with me and they will say i drive safely. Jimbo came for a ride in my car i'm sure he'll say i drive fine lol.
Lots of unfortunate things happen in life mate.. thinkg youself lucky you were able to afford a car that could stand up to that kind of crash...
If you would ahve been driving an early fiat panda you would not be in the same condition you are in today..

whats on the card's then... insurance claim ?? were the police involved ?? you gonna get another civic ??

glad you were both ok but let this be a lesson to everyone, theres a time and a place for having fun with your cars and its a race track !
Stay safe...

Couldn't agree more. :nice:

Really hope your ok mate, the passenger side looks completely gone; is the passenger ok? I've not yet crashed, but I can imagine it's a real gutter :(

Hopefully you get everything sorted with insurance etc and getting a new one. Wish you all the best mate :p

Im waiting for an insurance claim and yes the passenger is fine, which is excellent. Thanks for the positivity Topher - i did absoloutely love that car, and now its gone i am properly gutted but there is not much i can do about it now. Not having a car means i cant go and mess around anymore which should be a positive as it means i can concentrate on my business. Hopefully wont be a long time before i am in a position to consider getting a new car but i cant see that happening in the next 3 months at least.

Im alive - that is the main thing. Poor EK4 :(

No offence gav but not many people go on race tracks.

Well if more people kept thier fast driving for a track and not screaming about the roads like idiots then there wouldn't be as many accidents/injurys/deaths/stupid high insurance premiums !
Because people dont go on track doesnt give them the right do use the roads as one...

we were all young once, and at one point in everyones life doesnt really matter what age u get it into ur head u can push ur car to the limit and there will be NO consequences which is not true. my dad use to rally drive and was a good driver at that as well as his dad, but he is guilty of pushing his cars to the extremes and beiong subject to a few right offs.

i dont think anyone will look down on u mate everyone makes mistakes, and yes u should havebeen more careful however ur not a criminal

just learn from what has happened and will be a very valuable lesson for the future

Damn just seen the pictures. Glad your both okay. The car didnt too bad a job at protecting you.
I know how your feeling though, i wrote off my mint low mileage accord type R, all i had was a bruise.

Glad your good!

One hell of an accident...gutted for you mate. Take care next time! This time noone got hurt, next time it might be you, your friend or even an innocent bystander.

No offence gav but not many people go on race tracks. Also mate don't know why your posting this sort of thing on a forum, your just gonna have people looking down on your misfortune and making you feel worse.
I personaly don't mind how you drive, and im sure there was not a lesson to learn as the brain knows its in trouble when you drive fast. You were just unlucky.
Sure im gonna get grief for my opinion, anyway main thing is you were not hurt. Its just a bit metal at the end of the day.

Are you serieous? No lesson to be learned??? You wouldn't think "Oh maybe I shouldn't drive flat out on the road next time and especially not in a car I just started to learn" ??? You would do it all over again and again not learn anything from it if you would crash again??

I totally agree. All im saying is not many people use track's. All these accidents still happen on the roads that you have just mentioned from mums doing the school run in big 4x4's lol.

Looks a sore one mate ! glad you and ur mate are ok !

Good that you are alright, accidents happen. 2 years ago I had mine, i was going too fast. I was younger also, lost my mind. I learned a very good lesson in a hard way. Since than I had a motorbike accident, i was a passenger and nobody's fault was it, just a big ditch in the road, and the bike pushed the back out. Anyway it's good to see that people ain't talking ****, and saying ha you got what you deserved, but have some empathy. I never saw this much good people in such a small place. I'm glad that I drive a Honda, and all Honda-drivers are like this.

:wow: that did some damage.. Least you and your mate walked out from it!

we all learn from our mistakes, at least you both lived to tell the tale!

looks nasty but glad that nobody was seriously hurt.
it has been mentioned before that you dont just jump in a car and give it the beans, you need to learn how they like to be driven and for example if the previous owner was a plonker and had bodged some part of the car just to get it 'driveable' and the a week later the lower ball joint nut comes off due to being cross threaded and your doing xxx mph it it could have been alot worse.
so make sure that everything on the car is spot on before you take it out for some beans.

Your all a good bunch and hopefully it wont be too long until im back in action.

glad your ok SwanMan, don't get too down about it. You don't need lots of people telling you what you have done is wrong. We all make mistakes, learn from them

Chin up :nice:
