So I am sorting out my coilovers this coming Monday and had my mind set on a set of Tein Superstreets with upper mounts @ €960, but I've just noticed one of the traders selling D2's @ roughly €550.

Is it worth the extra money for the Tein, even though D2 are now TUV approved?

Any information will be much appriciated.

-Ben :nice:

Which trader is selling the D2's for that money ben?

Strange...He definitely had them advertised cheaper than that??

If you are just looking to lower your car then go for it, they are cheap after all, personally I would spend more on a set of coilovers depending on usage. For the track I wouldnt touch them and their 36 levels of damping is just overkill.

Maybe not be the same spring rates, but the D2's on my Starlet sucked. Yes they are cheap and cheerful, would do OK on a car that is not a daily ride..

But the bounced over bumps resulting in the tyre losing contact with the road which is obviously not good for traction and handeling reasons. And they were hard as anything on b roads..bumps and humps etc.

Got Cusco Zero II on the EK9 and they are 100% better.

I'm nearly sure someone on DTDIRL.com had them priced at below the €600 mark?

It really is get what you pay for though, might have to pay out the extra cash for the Teins...

Yeh my mate has a set of D2s on his gen 7 celica and they really aren't the best. I drove it before and it also suffers from losing traction over bumps and feels like the front is taking off.... Get the Teins ;)

that was me and it wasn't less than €600 ben and it was a preorder special when we started doing d2 products but we are now price matching are d2 coilovers if you find them cheaper in Ireland or Uk from an offical dealer and with the sterling so weak it's not woth it to uk customers but is worth to Irish customers :nice:
