Well long story short, went to buy some parts (shifter cables, bushes, rad clamps), and shipping is $244.60 itself which is almost as much as the dam parts.

Did I do/select something wrong? lol

I've had the shipping value cost more than the actually part's a few time's in the past. It's very annoying...

Yes HR from america, considering shifter cables dont exactly weigh alot - nor take up alot of space is what im confused about.

Well, due to that.. Im looking at K-tuned shifter cables - look cooler, more expensive but only $78 postage. I think we have a winner. :nerv:
 
Postage and import duty are my two major annoyances.
Bought a load of hybrid racing parts for my Kswap and it was the import duties that nailed me :(
 
But what was the postage cost of the items? Cant believe these small items came to $244 lol, would hate to buy a radiator or manifold lol

Edit: when i used to buy bits off icbm motorsports they either sent as a gift, or reduced the value of the items which would decrease import duties :)

I don't remember what the postage but I had two big monster boxes plus two smaller ones at that time. To many bits lol
 
send them an email and say you are from the forum

i never payed postage prices like that with any of the stuff i bought
 
I would def just send them an email to see if they can help you out at all
 
i was going to get 2 SK2 headers but as said shipping was stupid
email them and see what they can do
 
getting anything posted from america seems to be a balls! :( price up different things in the past and its always the postage and duties that rip the arse.
 
In off to NY in Dec if you want anything small? is there not a way around it? gift ect?
 
Dammit lee go now :). Hell i dont mind paying $200 for postage but $244 for such small items... k tuned are with ups, and its under half the postage for more items. Ive already purchased the bits i need to finish off the build - but thanks all, for the wee tips! Much appreciated.
 
Speak to Brian from Karcepts I've bought quite a few bits from him. He might be able to do it cheaper. He's always very helpful :nice:
