Hi,
it is safe to run 12-15psi with oem rods in a b16 engine?
As stated above running 12-15 psi on a small t25 turbo will not have the same flow volume as a running 12-15psi thought a T3/T4 turbo. Theres a much higher chance of melting a piston before shooting a rod, saying that it all depends on air/fuel set up.
I currently have 8,7 psi and got 245whp. I know a stock b16 can handle much more than 245whp, but it can handle more boost?
Its the power i.e. cylinder pressure you need to be concerned about. Do you honestly think the pressure inside the cylinder on the power stroke is the same amount as boost pressure ?
Boost is not what breaks things, poor tunes or pure power/ cylinder pressure is what breaks things.
believe me, i did A LOT of search before asking. But sometine is not easy find answers depending on the search string.I must have said this a million and one times on this forum but you still see questions like ''can I run 9 psi on a stock this and that''
If you want an answer to the op's original question the stock sleeves will break long before the rods break or the ringlands break.
what turbo do you have?Mines running 10psi, 340bhp and is scarely quick so why the hell you need to run 15, unless your drag racing is beyond me tbh....
