bigtube header info

Been getting a few opinions about exhaust systems the past week,and think im coming to the conclusion to stick with my spoon n1 cut off the bottle neck part that joins to b-pipe and getting a true 2.5 inch custom b-pipe made up with a silencer to pass track day testing.
But the reason for the thread is what brand of big tube header to go for as i see alot of reps floating about on ebay.com and where is the best place to buy them,Cheers Philip
 
the hytech replica tri y is catching my eye atm for around £200 delivered
 
I think phill you should post up bit information about your build, see if people on here agree with getting a big tube style header etc...

arp head studs
arp main studs
oem head gasket
skunk valves,springs,reatiners
skunk 2 pro 2 cams

think thats most of the important stuff about the engine,read that post were steven said the most important bit is a good header.Maybe his imput could be useful in this thread
 
Whats peoples opinion on the skunk 2 tri-y header? any info on them? cheers Philip

Been looking into this myself for a while, think unless you are going 2L or at least have some major headwork on a 1.8L then the standard header and not the big tube is best

I do like the hytech style ones and know they make big power but ground clearance is TERRIBLE

Bisimoto / street sweeper is best for clearance. I will be going for a street sweeper since i will be running a full width radiator, i dont have ps so that wont be an issue with the street sweeper :)

im planning on one of those along with a custom manifold back system for my build
 
cheap headers are cheap for reason including copies, high end headers give amazing gains when matched up correctly with engine setups and appropriate mapping

external blue has showed me the blackworks big tube manifold,think im goina go for it,also bought a catback to get rid of the restrictive oem exhaust
 
Bigger isn't alway better be carefull of that!
yeah,been reading a few set-ups on honda tech and there running tri-y header with a good 2.5 inch system which is what im going for,just bought a good system and then hopefully this manifold then get it to you to work your magic :)
 
If you buy a ebay header (which I don't recommend) stay away from the TDM header..
