I bought my ek4 and it already has bc coilovers fitted and i didn't know weather to sell them and get different ones because my mate had miester r zetas on his and it seemed to handle alot better than mine does but a few people sed i just need to get them set up properly?

So can anyone give me their views on the bc coilovers please?

or any recommendations would b great, cheers!

Id rate BC's more than Meisters, this is just from what ive heard/seen etc,no personal experience.

Id assume they just need properly set up!

Id assume they just need properly set up!

aye some sets get a bad rep just because some people dont use them right

on topic i have no experience of either, i know ALOT of users have meisters

i also don't have any camber adjusters etc yet. once i fit my 5-stud and buy some camber adjusters i think i'll go get them set up. Anything else u would recommend for handling? thanks for the help and advise lads

Do you find them to hard or to soft?? You could get them set up correct and adjust the damping to what you like. Had them on my ek9 and found them to handly great

I run them on mine and they handle 340bhp thrown at them on track. Maybe a little soft for circuit use tbf put pukka on the road

I wouldn't touch them personally, just another generic tiawanese coilover company with one damper and 50 different mounts they weld on it.

They have vaving that goes from progressive to digressive. This is a nightmare to 'set up' as it will never feel right, if you set it so the high speed daming is good enough to keep the tyre planted on the road, the low speed damping will be so low the car will wallow. Set it so the car is firmed up in the corners and the high speed damping goes through the roof and the tyres will bounce.

I had a set on my old ek9 I thought they were un-real in everyway tip the lower you go the worst handling your going to get also take in to consideration that if the back end is lower then the front you handling is going to be affected. Always go slightly lower on the front then back to keep the nose down when cornering

I rate them very highly on my '9. I just played about with the settings til I was happy and I think they're spot on.
You could pay silly money for the suspension to be set up but a lot of it is down to personal preference. When my mate drives my car he thinks the suspension is set too firm but I think it's spot on.
It's very hard to set up for all conditions too, having track based settings will more than likely be too harsh for uk B roads.

as we supply them at my work,we get alot of feedback on them from all different cars from mr2s,celica gt4s,preludes,civics etc..and have had NO negative feedback at all..there a very capable coilover if set up properly..

i would say there equally as good as meisters..i personally would just get the car set up correctly

I know a few people running these coilovers

The guys using them are very happy overall! One of the EK4 VTI civics with them installed that I was taken out in on the track handled very well putting down faster lap times than a dc2 with billstein shocks/race springs

I also know of a local drifter who has won his events many times and has been using BC's for 5 seasons now without a single problem

Obviously these coilovers are no where near the standard of high end coilover systems but they are also no were near the price!

IMO Meister-R, Buddyclub, BC Racing, K-Sport etc will all be very close in terms of quality and performance with slight differences in their design. As far as I'm aware they are all made in taiwan but that's not necessarily a bad thing

I run these with a custom spring rate and think they are immense - especially on the road.

well they seem to be pretty good by all ur opinions then. a garage quite close by charges £70 to get them set up so i'll just go there soon. might try swappin the springs for different rate ones aswell. Do camber adjusters make much difference??

EK9 supension > cheap coilovers any day imo I had BC Coilovers granted they are well made nothing wrong with them.

But the car handling day to day was ruined tbh coilovers were fitted for 4days before coming off.

OEM FTW!

Well said!
Could never get mine right for b-roads. One point both front wheels bounced off the road over a little bump.

Couldn't find a happy medium with the damping rates.
The spring rates i had wernt to hard either 8kgF 5kgR.
