After market header for Type R?

Hello everybody... i think of upgrade my stock B16B stock header to aftermarket one... now im looking for second hand one in my land, Malaysia... Before this, i heard that header for 16A and 18c not suitable for Type R engine lik 16B and 18CR... cos type R header got bigger flange...im noob of wat is flange..
Ther is a lot of header out there... so i donno how to choose the right one for my B16B...
Can anyone giv me some tips lik how to identify size and etc...?
I heard toda 4-2-1 Ver2 header size is 45mm,50mm and 60mm inlet.. izit good enuf? how to evaluate the size of it?

Toda header is one of the best header for the b16b, you need a header that has a 2.5" flange, I think the B16A headers comes with a 2" flange, if you're going to buy the toda header you need to get the 60 mm version :woot:

B16A headers are 2.25"

The only difference with the 16B version is the secondaries are sized at 48mm instead of the 50mm shown.

You never know when you might stroke up to 1.8L ;)
 
any reason why they make the b18 diff the b16b? thought they would of been the same.
any gain in getting the b18 one?
 
it's likely due to the smaller displacement ...the smaller tubes probably helps exhaust velocity.

One would assume that there might even be a small loss with going with the 1.8L version but all units shipped to the US have been 1.8L version and they have been installed on the imported 16Bs with good results.

Would the 16B version show more gains... maybe. I don't know anybody personally who has a 1.6L version

In my country here is very hard to find Toda Ver2....
Bro... can tell me which part is the Flange?? Izit the end of the header that connect to piping?
 
i agree, i would get the b18c version, even if you don't go up to 1.8 if you add cams or raise compression the little extra exhaust flow for the 50mm will help...

So conclusion is that all the aftermarket header that hav 60mm OR 2.5" flange will suitable for B16B or 18CR? right?
 
The new ones are so much nicer, I think there's a waiting period for them too...
So be aware of that!
 
I just bought a FEEL'S header for B18cr from chop shop... its used from japan... REasonable price...RM1100= $320 usd oni..
Give Comment please....Im stock B16B wit 2.5" piping, decat and Apexi N1 back..

not exactly, 60mm is 2.37"

I just bought a FEEL'S header for B18cr from chop shop... its used from japan... REasonable price...RM1100= $320 usd oni..
Give Comment please....Im stock B16B wit 2.5" piping, decat and Apexi N1 back..

Looks beautiful, very similar in design to the vibrant jspec 4-2-1 which is one of my fav headers...
