After market header for Type R?


yah...dave... the spool seal leaking... already fixed at the same time...
 
I feel the exhaust sound is different than b4... the engine breath smoother at the mid end power.... the stock header is so heavy...
 
I've got the 16B ver2 on deposit in japan. I wont be stroking my 16B so will compare the gains over my 5zigen 4-2-1, 2.5 collector header.

I don't think TODA is stupid for decreasing the secondaries by 2mm for nothing. Would be a waste of time for TODA if not worth the benefit.

Do people honestly think they would go to the trouble ( and BIG expense ) of designing and manufacturing two seperate headers, if they both did exactly the same ?
The 1.8 manifold is a little big for the 1.6 - even if the engine mods' on the 1.6 produce a similar output to a 1.8, it may suffer a little , especially in the midrange. Might start to recoup its loses as the revs raise, but then thats what toda didn't design their 4-2-1 header for. Neither is your money designed to be thrown away :)
Sure we are probably talking, at most, a couple of hp and a couple lbs of torque - but on a racetrack thats a serious consideration.
Dont go spending money twice though, if your increasing your displacement soon might aswell get the 1.8 mani , or just wait !

Hey tecque, when you say the exhaust sounds different after fitting the manifold/header can you explain as im thinking of getting a similar header, is it louder with the new header or more raspy etc ? do you like the new noise?:D

Difficult to explain how the sound different... Ok.. Before i changed header, the exhaust sound become loud and its like got BASS and Vibration after 3000rpm...i can feel very noisy in the car...i think the air flow is limited...

AFTER i changed to FEELS header... the exhaust sound seem smoother than before and not tat loud anymore after 3000rpm..When im driving in the car..i can only hear the exhaust sound from the muffler ..Hope u understand wat i said...:p
 
Anybody notice the Feel's header looks like the Vibrant one?

Or rather, it's the Vibrant that looks like Feel's.... ;)
