The bottom car shown is a different style from the others, but the first cars are of the "totally awesome" style.
It's what happens when an obsessed ricer just keeps adding and adding to their current body kits and tail pipes.

I read an article about this style in Banzai magazine, turns out this style is followed by the 'Bōsōzoku'. Originally a japanese biker gang, they can be found in huge numbers outside the Tokyo Auto Salon for one day each year.

those are bosozoku cars. even though exagerrated the bodykit looks very much like the japanese touring cars of the 70's and 80's. They were very popular in japan in the 80's, they used to be so costly that only the mafia guys used to afford them. hence the association to japanese gangs. Still very cool to see. The last one surely is american lol
