Hi guys.

Just wondering what tyre size would you use for a Civic with torsen lsd, Zero2, cage producing 210hp, for track and street use.

Car is a daily with no p/s, but i don't mind.

Also, what size would you use on the back? Same as the front? Stock? (195)

Running on 15x7 as always.

:thanks:

personally i'd go slightly wider up front maybe 205's then 195 at the back

id run equal true widths all round, i personally run 215s advan a046's and the set up is great.

215/45 all round fits my car with no problems on a 7" rim (205-225 is whats ment to be on a 7J anyway!)! the wider the better, more contact with the road thus more grip!

my civic "race" car is fully caged/stripped with no ABS, mental 300mm PROPER race brembos, no power steering, short gears, 1.5 way plate type diff and producing 120 odd lbft and 204bhp

I run it on 15x7" wheels and 195/50 A048 yokohama trackday semi slicks, has no issues with traction at all

Personally I prefer the grip and feel in mine with 205 width (over 195) but definitely not enough of a difference to make it worth the extra price you get with some tyre makes.

I run 195 all-round and on semi slick they are great with 190whp. But road tyres it understeers a lot more. I may try 205 front 195 rear when I need new tyres

If you want to make your car handle better, you should run the appropriate width tyre for your rims.

195/55 R15 is for 6" stock rims. 15x7 should be 205/50
I run 16x8 with 225/45 R16 on my EK9 with B16B

The tyres should look like they have a straight 0 degree wall that is sitting wider than the rim. Otherwise your not running the optimum size tyre for your rims.

-Running tyres that are wider than your rim will give you a spongy steering response
-Running tyres that are narrower than your rims will apply uneven load on parts of the tyre and cause increased wear. At the same time your rim will be the first thing to kiss the kerb if you hit one.

Just match the tyre to your rim. Whether it will be a 195, 205, 215 or 225 etc.

every tyre size has information about the size of its exact rim fitment width. Just need to research and ask questions before buying. A 8" width rim may have a choice between 215 to 235 but usually its the middle size that fits perfect.

After fitting my 195s on my 7j's recently ive found that under harsh steering i can hear a slight noise which i think could be my sidewalls bending a bit, But they are Toyo T1R's which dont have the strongest sidewalls :D

imo 195 is too small for a 7 inch rim. but some tyre makes appear wider than others?!?

195/55 semi slick tyre is wider than a 195/55 road tyre. It just depends on the brand.

But we are talking road tyres here

195 road tyres on 7" rim. Not good mate. Only those riced up cars dunked with big rims run stretched tyres. Never on a performance application. Very bad.

Have you seen some pictures of those cars under hard cornering? The rim sits widest and it looks as if the tyres are about to rip off the wheel?

So fuking gay I can't stand it lol

If you ever have an accident, dont expect insurance to cover it if they see the tyre and rim combo your running. Atleast not from the country I live in.
