Anyone have the Eibach sportline springs?

SPek9 should have 1 finger arch gap at the most.
So we look forward to seeing your side shots SPek9

Great stuff mate good to know!:nice: Post some pics when you can ;) Have you got much arch gap?

Will do, I have 205/45/16's and I can only get 1 finger between the front arch and the tyre. The rear sits a bit higher but the rear bushes and all the springs still have to settle, this can take up to a month depending on how the cars drove

mine sat pretty low(sportlines + koni yellows), went to a h&r cup kit and it sat exactly the same

lowest point is my front sway bar and cat at about 80mm from the ground
second lowest point is my mugen catback's resonator which is about 85mm or so

Ok here are the pics I took on my phone today of my ek9 with eibach sportlines fitted but they have only covered about 4miles so haven't settled in yet.

The back sits higher than normal because the car has new trailing arm bushes and its completely stripped in the back because I was painting the floor satin black

Im confident that the car will lower another 10mm after a few weeks and sit a bit lower at the back when the interior is back in, which is exactly the way I hoped it would be as I wouldnt want it any lower. The springs also make the car handle very well and are not too bumpy :nice:

Alrite guys, to clear up any confusion caused by the pictures of vk9's ek hatch with eibach sportline springs. I can confirm that there is something wrong with the fitment or set up of his car.

:nerv: lol thanks

and the drop on your ek9 looks good already without even settling :)

No problem, there must be a simple explaination for your problem as you have said the the springs do not sit corrrectly in the shock.

If you were to jack the car up and loosen the 14mm nut at the top of the strut until the top of the nut reaches the end of the thread, this should take most of the pressure off the spring and allow you to twist the spring around until it is seated in the correct positon on the lower spring perch.

Might save you having to take the shock out even tho its not a big job. Also to get the rear shock out simply undo the upper camber arm and the ARB drop link and it will slide out very easily:nice:

Oh no, not another set...
I am confident they will not settle even -5mm over the course of 1 year.
It would be good if you could report back in 12 months and prove me wrong :nice:

Looks good thanks for the pics! I got my front two fitted today, need ek9 lca's to fit the back two as my ek9 shocks were to tight to fit onto my current lca's. The fronts dropped abit, has about a 2 finger arch gap so should reduce to one once settled. vk9 definietly get yours refitted mine dropped more than yours has at the front straightaway!

What do you mean? These springs are not made for ek9s and due to the fact that the ek9 is already lower than standard civics it has prob lowered the car about 40ish mm compared to a standard non-ek9 civic. I will report back when they have settled in a bit but I wouldnt want the car much lower than it is atm.

The springs are 50mm so they should not slam the car to the ground

thats mine on eibach springs and std shocks. not sure which kit though.

Looks similar to my drop but they have obviously settled so i'm thinking sportlines. Have a look at the colour of the springs as I think pro-kit are black and the sportlines are definitally red

I have the pro-kit and by the looks of some photos my front sits lower then sportlines, Seems like a bit more even drop on Pro-kit, and they sit really nice on that VSM Ek9

Must be a pro-kit if they are def eibach bud! Sits well, there is a list of loads of spring rates for civics and it stated that the pro-kit were actually softer than oem ek9 springs as they were not made for the ek9 model and that the sportlines were slightly stiffer than oem ek9 springs.

I will post up a link if i find it

Also "y3Lo" did you buy this car off a member on this site? I remember asking about a silver ek9 posted on this site that looks very similar to yours as it had eibachs fitted.

He told me that he installed the eibach pro-kit (black) and cut a coil or so off the springs to make it sit lower

^^ Are those 15's? How long have you had your sportlines fitted mate? I've just ordered a set of 16's but wasn't sure on what trye size I should get. Would 205/45/16 be ok with this drop as I want it to fill the arch?

Second picture is 195/50/15 and the first picture is 175/70/13. And i would have liked it if you didnt bring my name up when complaining about the springs, that has caused me hassle. My springs look OK they just need more miles on them. The springs have done about 30 miles. I'll give it a good run at the weekend and see if there is much difference. If not then i'm snookered! Lets hope AZ will give me my money back! If it has dropped to the height it should be then i'll keep them on until i get money for coilovers, but that isn't the priority at the moment.
