getting more from - b16b??

Cheers

Coolant lines basically remove the lines going to and from the throttle body, then used the longest one and ran it straight from the inlet manifold to IACV, perfect length, need to bleed the coolant system again after

Nah i bored the TB myself, never touched the manifold side of the it, just taper bored out the inlet side as far as i could

:)

Nice one thanx for that Steven!:D Think when my engine & box is out getting stripped next month I will get Jamie to do that while he is there!

hope you dont mind me copying you?!:naughty:

Cheers

Iv seen the state he left my mates engine in, proper kenyon'd up.

I nearly bought a built b20 last month, was about to spend 1000 on a bottom end. Only reason I didnt was because he built it.

well with boring it, it'll still say B16B on the bottom end if you get what im saying and you'll get the bonus of a 2L engine + 1,8 stoke = more power :nice:

with regards to a B20b/z bottom end, It can only safely rev to say, 8300Rpm max (Rev limited on the CR-V), you'll need an aftermarket ECU to run it safely

And yes you would effectivly have a Teg engine, minus ECU though (i think) - someone correct me if im wrong

cheers man, 2 litre 1.8 stroke sounds mice ha...wat kinda power would that be puttin out?? 250 or more??

and wat pistons could i use if it was 2 litre?

and obviuosly i'd need a serious map/ tuning if i was going to do that,

thats weird as he has done rakes of jobs for me and my mates and they were all top notch! I trust him!:win:

have a stock b16b anything i can do to improve it ??

or wat should i do first all opinions welcome but dont want to go turbo:)

Maybe starting with getting her breathing right. Simple stuff like a decat and a decent intake. ECU upgrade. The information is all here already have a look :)

Final drive and a light weight flywheel is a good place to start. Then start modding the engine, I/H/E you could stick a nice set of cams in there to. Then finish it off with you engine management systerm (last in the list but most important).

How much of a difference does lightened flywheel make? I know it varies on which make you got. I just don't know much on this mod

i have seen a i/h/e and 6puck clutch ek9 get smoked by a intake/exedy billet flywheel and clutch ek9. it had stock exhaust.

TODA pistons, HONDATA management, 68mm tb with full matchport to SKUNK2 IM(they have an easier im to bore out than the stock r-spec im) and SKUNK2 MEGAPOWER header to 2 1/2" piping to a decent muffler, and to top it off a good non-engine management tuning(distributor, fuel pressure, etc.) from someone who knows what there doing- EASY 200hp! with CTR cams and ecu!

wat will the toda pistons improve ??

and does a ttb bored out make much improvement???

if i do bore it will it sit back on properly to stock IM?

right lads, i've decided to stroke my b16b to 1.8..i just want to finalise wat exactlyt i need before i go buying parts. i will use dc2 crank and rods..will i need anything other than rods and crank from dc2/itr

should i use b16b pistons or dc2 ones??

should i use thinner head gasket??

anything else need changing??

thanks

I would say some stage 2 cams and supporting valve springs+retainers and full supporting mods i.e full I/H/E will see you 200bhp with a good tune. Larger throttle body also would be another thing to add to that list.

A mate of mine.... standard ecu, standard mani, top fuel induction kit, tanabe exhaust made 162bhp on standard b16b. I sold him a set of skunk2 pro 1's and a 68mm tb and he bought a power fc and made 189. Excellent difference for nothing but an ecu and cams and a tb BUT trackday performance said 200 is defo achievable if he puts standard tb back on and gets a 4-1 teg mani and teg type r b pipe. Tb's do worse unless inlet mani is bored to match. Get your self all these and your away. And pro stage 1's dont need springs and retainers on B16b, it was revved fairly high on dyno and still to today its grand.

On the other hand i've a 219bhp b16b but it stroked to 1800. But if you get b18 bottom end and keep b16b head, mugen induction kit, power fc, full exhaust, it'll be as quick as mine. Im defo buyin another set of pro 1's. Approx 35bhp gain, maybe more coz its stroked. Even 250 from a b series NA is impressive. Its all depending on how much ya want to spend, remember labour if your not a mechanic
