I'm falling in a depression here. I'm still stuck in my first car and its not even mine!!
1992 Peugeot 106 1000cc lol, just a 4 inch silencer as a mod lool.

I also notice that most of you guys owned relatively bigger power rwd cars before your ek9. How does the ek9 compare to those others?? I forgot the names but some had i believe an rx7 and a skyline gt-t. would you go back to the big power cars??

used to own skyline r32 gtr, evo 4 but on a whole prefer the 9 to them all its got great performance from stock handeling is ace and its very reliable love looking out the window and seeing ma 9 sitting there will be in no hurry to change cars

iv still got my rx7 and my 9. the 9 is used daily, great car, and different kind of performance to my 7. i hardly use my rx7 unless im completely in the mood for driving hassle...triple plate clutch, single turbo, stripped interior, rollcage, single figure mpg and a diff that clunks away...im guessing you can see why i love the ek9.

obviously no ****, i love the rx7, but i bought it for completely different reasons.

going fwd again was a hard decision, i love rwd and the way it drives, but the 9 is one of the very few front wheelers id have. they are great cars

Yeah the RX-7 was great, obviously faster, but being turbo'd a totally different style of power delivery despite still revving to 8500 rpm.

The EK9 feels faster (at least at normal public road speeds) due to the responsiveness of the engine and the lightness, handling feel etc. My 7 had TEIN Super Street suspension fitted and it felt the same as the stock EK9 suspension, which surprised me when I first drove the Civic.

I'm looking forward to taking the EK9 on the track in June, I'd done a few trackdays with the RX-7 at my local circuit (Snetterton, Norfolk) and it was great fun and handled really well, but ran really hot (intake, water and oil). I reckon that while Snetterton won't suit the EK9 as much (it is one of the fastest circuits in the UK) it'll take the abuse much better as it won't have the turbos adding to the under-bonnet heatsoak.

To answer your last question, yes I would definitely go back to a big power car at some point, but it'd probably have a large capacity NA motor instead of a turbo, I think I prefer them now :)

Cheers,
Alex
