Just ordered myself a set of hasport engine mounts 62A rated

What do you guys reckon about just running the three mounts and doing away with the lower torque mounts?? I know stevenek9 has removed his but he is running higher rated innovative mounts (70A i think)

opinions appreciated!

Take it you've had no problems runing without them? I'm sure i read somewhere before you don't really need them with uprated mounts just can't think where!

yeah with the upgraded mounts they should support your engine just fine.

Yes most people remove the lower torque mounts when installing hasport mounts.

Torque mounts are so weak anyway that I don't think they offer much in terms of relieving stress from the main engine mounts

i packed my torque mounts with tiger seal and left to set for a week . can notice a considerable difference

Yeah that would work but in stock form I don't think they function very well

Weight saving... There not needed when using stiffer "main" engine mounts

The torque mounts are there to minimise movement in the engine under load, hence the name torque mount

Oem style rubber mounts due to their design still have a fair bit of movement in them, hence why you need torque mounts to minimise/absorb this

With solid poly mounts there is almost no play in the engine, hence with no movement you do not need to run torque mounts. The weight of the engine is supported by the main 3 mounts, the lower torque mounts aren't really load bearing

Even with the "softest" durometer rating you will be ok to remove the mounts, 7kg saving over oem mounts
