Anyone used these/know if they are any good?
Quite tempted to get a set for the 9.

get_image.aspx

Complete set of Yonaka Motorsports street coilovers for all 1996-2000 Honda Civics. Ideal for street cars and weekend racers.

Featuring:

All Aluminum Upper Mounts
0-4" Height adjustment.
Fully Threaded Mono Tube Shock Absorber.
Inner bump stop to prevent damage cause by rapid compression impacts.
Wide range of height adjustment without changing the spring compression.
Bottom of the shock is threaded to allow height adjustments without having to shorten the suspension travel.
Rubber dust shield protecting piston for long life.
Adjustment tools included.

Spring rates are as follows:
Front springs: 12kg / 180mm
Rear springs: 6kg / 200mm

Stiff in the front, too soft in the rear. The front and rear numbers should be much closer together, like 12k front/10k rear, or 12k front /14krear for certain track racing.
I would only use them as a street coilover. When the only features they have to list come with every coilover out there, they can't be anything special in quality or performance.

crap crap crap crap, this is like ksport and godspeed its crap crap crap, please stay away.

+10000000000!!!!
They are the same thing as all the above and also trade under the name of Daiyama!
Iv got them on my car and i am getting rid ASAP.
Im on my 2nd set now after they were replaced on warenty.

Wow, glad I asked before I bought them. Struggling to find the right set of coilovers at the moment. Want a set like TEIN SS (Height adjustability, Dampning & below £600) but with the option to lower further than TEIN SS alows.

Anyone got any suggestions?

well i'm going to be fitting a set of Tein SS with top mounts to my car later this week, will post up pics once done but from what i've heard/seen they go plenty low!

too low and you'll no doubt do bad things to the handling.....

Agreed, too low aint good for handling. But would like to have the ability to lower more now and then :nice:. Would be interested to see how low yours is when fitted mate.

In the TEIN brochure it says:

Ride Height
TEIN SS:
F -10.0mm / R -23.0mm

TEIN SS W Upper Mount:
F -15.0mm / R -25.0mm

Not quite enough for me and I swear someone on here was saying not so long ago that the SS don't quite go low enough.

Hi !

New here, but I'll let you know my setup...

Running Type one racing : A&J Racing :: Suspension & Brakes :: Civic (EK) :: T1R B-Max 52 Damper - Honda Civic 96-00 (EK)

I think it's close to your price range...

Running 8kg front and 12kg back. Here in Quebec we have really bumpy roads,
and on the soft setting, it's not bad. Good quality set, adjustable (36 clicks) and
it really makes a BIG difference from soft to hard. So soft on the street and a few
clicks when you go on the track.:nice:

If you want more info. let me know...

they dont go that low my mate has them on his 9. but they are awsume one of the best coilovers iv felt on a ek. if you want low d2 are the way to go. im sure there new shock is ment to be ok as they have solved the leakin problem that they had but if im wrong im sure someone will put me right

Thanks for the suggestion bud, looks like a nice setup. Probably just out of my price range by the time it gets into the UK though :(.

Cheers for the info m8. TEIN is def is my fav set atm, would just love it if they went a bit lower. D2's are a bit of a no no for me as ive been told the dampening adjust doest do anything. Need to be able to make it soft for our rubbish roads and stiff for track days :drive:

well this EK9 is on Tein SS, if mine sits like this with them fitted i will be chuffed :)

oh and as you can see in this printout i just took, the fronts go down to -80mm and the rears go to -75mm that's if you get the ones WITH upper mounts :nice:

the ones WITHOUT upper mounts only go -40mm front and -48mm rear :(

Lol, i'm reading this out of the TEIN UK 2008 Catalogue dude.
Looks like TEIN are miss printing information on one of the two, lets hope it's the catalogue I've got, that lowering distance on the website is more than enough. :nice:

your all wrong, thats the minimum drop, the max drop is -48mm front -83mm rear and thats without the pillow mounts, with them you gain an extra -3mm in the rear

I'm sure i contacted a company a few month back and was told the tein ss put a pre-load on the spring as they are wound down whereas other coilover designs like the buddyclub N+ spec dont put a pre-load on the spring as they are lowered. May be something to look into......

yeah basically some coilovers you can lower the body of the shock into the lower part of the assembly which means that you can lower the car without affecting the suspension travel available. you can do this with Tein's from the Flex model upwards :)
