WRC in administration...

Cant believe this :( As said I hope someone buys this and brings it back!!!!

The WRC has been on a downward spiral for years in my opinion. Too few manufacturers, too few winners (i.e. one guy dominates)

Honestly, I'd rather go and watch a club rally. Such as the Wydean rally or one of the various rallies held at Epynt.

Of course someone will buy it, too many interests at stake to leave this to die :)

WRC needed more manufacturers racing stuff that you can buy a version of in the showroom.

Toyota need to get involved:

Toyally agree with this ! Gutted it going though hope some one saves it.

I'm not worried about WRC because of this, but for a whole lot of other reasons! Malcolm Wilson is struggling to get some money from Ford, which I suspect was one of the reasons why Hirvonen said yes to Citroen. Prodrive already announced that they don't have enough money for the entire 2012 season, which means Mini (read BMW) is not really that interested either. I agree with those saying that WRC cars should be simpler, I can remember an article about Focus WRC - it said only around 60 parts were the same as in standard production model! It also said a single headlamp cost £5000 - due to its low weight! So a wee bump of which you see hundreds in rallying and you lost over 10k just in 2 damaged headlamps.... Surly using the standard one would not add that much weight but it would save a lot of money! But they have to do it because others do it and if they don't they loose, so this would have to come from FIA who unfortunately seem totally uniterested in what's happing to the sport....
Uh, sorry guys, rant over :D

I agree with a few of the above posts, it has been going downhill for a few years now. Also the manufacturers are paying stupid amounts of money for car spec/lightness yet the whole car is literally getting torn to bits which obviously costs a fortune in repairs, there definitely needs to be some rules brought into play for it too actually go uphill again, not just financial backing.

I agree with majority of the comments.

I say, strip it more back to grass roots to reduce the costs involved and hopefully make it more competitive between more manufacturers/drivers.

i can't help but agree with all of the comments, i hate the economy!
