Worst night ever Crashed my EK9 and nearly lost my life.

sad to hear mate, but there are still loads of bits on there that are worth good money.

Thanks for the replys lads. I'll post again to let you know how I get on. I have to get some kip cause they gave me so many drugs in hospital. Thanks again.

As long as you walked away and can tell the story you can replace the car but not your life many were not so fortunate... I would be interested in some bits if you want to pm me your contact details if you like..

i know the feeling of losing your beloved car, but the important thing is that you are ok. we all have to drive carefully on the roads

Sorry to hear this mate, as said, main thing is your still here. I had a bad motorbike crash, and it hurts your body and heart when you lose something that you care about. Pics look bad. Arent you covered by the insurance and get a pay out to buy another Type R? All the best, and get the parts off when you are able and the nice folk on here will take them off your hands, and give you some much needed funds.

All the best,

Ben

Real sorry to hear mate.. Glad your ok.. When your better you should break it..People will buy anything off these cars..Every little thing.. You could get a bit of money together and maybe pick up a nice eg6 fairly right these days if you couldnt afford another 9

hate reading things like this:(( its a horrible thing losing your 9 but its a much more horrible thing someone losing a son/boyfriend/pal etc.. might not feel that lucky right now but could have been a lot worse. Glad your all right mate and as said sure you'll get rid off all the parts:nice: get well soon :nice:

never good reading threads like this . the car can be replaced but your life cant . lost a best mate last year that was a passenger in another mates ek9 . horrible thing to happen so consider yourself lucky dude

****in hell, sorry to hear about that man, main thing is your ok!

Dont mean to put a downer on the situation anymore but your engine may be ****ed if it was still running while upside down, just incase you sell it and it comes back on you mate.

sorry to hear. its just a car at the end of the day. at least your ok.

Hope you get better mate, as mentioned at least you managed to crawl out of the car could have been alot worse. Take the payout from the insurance and ask about buying your car back

:nice:

this is true. my b18c was from a rolled car and the thing went pop

I wouldnt worry about the car, as said above, it can be replaced.

After seeing that pic, id say your very lucky!

JEEZZ!! :nerv: Think once the B18 goes in next month the next thing will defo be a roll cage. As i lost the back end of my first civic at 80mph an was lucky enough that it only snatched an just flicked me the other way into a wall sideways. Scrubing off most of the speed in the slide.

Id look for a cheap EG or EK and swap all the bits over would be a good option

glad 2 hear u'r alive mate, if u don't mind me asking wot make of tyres were u using at the time? I had an experience in the past where i used cheap tyres on the back of my car and it used to spin out without warning. 1 good reason to always buy the best tyres.

Rollcage without wearing a helmet is very dangerous! If you slam your head into the cage in an accident, in the best case it will hurt A LOT, in the worst cause you can have permanent head trauma or even death! And no, your belt won't stop that from happening cause it flexes a lot, in order to prevent deceleration injury. If your belt would not, your body would have to sustain tenths, if not more than a 100 g's of force upon impact force because your body is almost instantly stopped, say from 40mph-0mph in 2 feet. Deceleration injury will obviously cause internal injury's, such as internal bleeding, heavy damage to organ tissue, organ failure or even death.

Better to take a half cage, like the Megane R26R. Will keep the roof from folding, but you can't slam your head into that.

Ouch! My friend had similar damage to his BMW when he swerved for a plastic bag at 100 MPH. He didn't want it sticking to his grill....

I've only ever managed to get the back out on my car at 80'ish, and that was in the wet with me being a wally behind the wheel. Nearly deficated myself at the time.

Hope u get better soon and glad ur made it out of the 9 in a piece... like ppl mentioned u can strip it to sell or use it towards another EK!

all the best!

Oh dear, hate seeing cars smashed up, especilly rare ones like EK9's :( I think it stood up to it quite well though, compare it to a paxo or corsa they do crumple!

What was the condition of the tyres you were using?
