Exedy 8.5 Lb Flywheel.

Exedy 9.5 lb Flywheel
??????????????????????????????????????????

Your car is a daily drive right? If yes you should use the 9.5 lb one :)

That's what i was thinking! but it will only be a daily drive for another few month's!
:thanks:

Anyways if you choose the 9.5 pound one, you save 5 pounds over the stock one :nice:

oh this just gave me a good idea!! i should add flywheels to my upgrade thread!! and yeah i say 9.5 street 8.5 race.

I just weighed my stock flywheel and it's 6.9kgs and my new ACT flywheel weighs 5.7kgs, this is on the same digital scale though... The guy I bought it from weight it at 5.2kgs

i'm thinking about putting in a 4.1kg flywheel, but after asking around for different opinions, half of them told me it's a good move & the other half told me to keep the stock one. what should i do???!!! :nerv::nerv::nerv:

Remember that when you install a lighter flywheel, the car revs up faster, but also the revs drop faster, If you have a 8.5 pounds or less flywheel your revs will definitely drop faster. Even if the car is not going to be a daily drive, I will go for a 9.5 pounds flywheel like Toda, all the people that I know that installed a 8.5 pound or less, they combine it with a N1 crank pulley :blinx:

I recently installed a 9.5 lbs Excedy Fly... good for daily drive! i luv it :drive:

what kind of difference did u c?

car revs more freely... i fitted uprated clutch too (excedy stage2), clutch bites bit too much as a daily ride... will upgrade my diff to a LSD as to much stress is created by clutch!

not sure if stock EK4 flywheel is heavier than EK9, so might notice bigger difference when upgrading to lighter fly... :nice:

Anyone tried the spoon flywheel? I am putting a new clutch soon so I am looking for a lighter flywheel as well.

It would be great if you guys could provide some sort of comparison between different brands heheheheh.

don't change your flywheel. just uprate you clutch & cover & put in new tranny fluid (honda mtf is bloody excellent mate!! :nice:) i followed that advice & am very very pleased. :)

For value/quality/performance, any 1pc Chromoly Flywheel such as Exedy/TODA/ACT/MFactory (as you are in the UK, give DMRR a call and they can sort you out) :)
