what to do? gear set or fd???

guys my next mod for the civic is going to be gearbox work, it already has an orc twin plate clutch and light flywheel so im going for either a 4.9/ 4.78 fd or a 3 4 and 5 gear set from m factory...what wll give the best gains??
 
Gearset will give the better gains by far, but for those on a budget, the difference the final drive makes is also very noticeable :)

yesterday I put in a close ratio gear set and I still have a smile on my face :clap: So I would go for the close ratio gear set if you have the Budget for it :nice:
 
went for 3rd -1.695 & 4th 1.384 (i think that´s what the ratio is).
kept 5th as it is as i use the car daily and the higher revs in 5th would have driven me mad if i put in a close ratio 5th gear. I can live with this set up just fine, was just amazed with the difference in 3rd and 4th :nice:, this must be a mod that everyone should consider.
 
awesome comparison vid looks like 3rd drops in about 800 rpm higher than previously and 4th too, personally i think the standard EK9 gearing there is too big a jump between 2nd and 3rd and also 3rd and 4th,, looks like your gearing has cured that, third in gear pull must feel allot better now,,
 
it made a huge difference, the car pulls really good in 3rd and in 4th. before I had this feeling that the car slowed down after shifting from 2nd to 3rd but now she just pulls all the way through 3rd & 4th :nice:
this is a mod that everyone should consider doing, it´s worth it. :drive:
