The Art of the Machine

The W16 alloy engine developed by Bugatti for the Veyron 16.4 will have a special and absolutely unique place in the history of sports car construction. Its design employs the space-saving VR principle with two particularly slender eight-cylinder blocks arranged at a 90° angle to each other.

1001 horsepower equip the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 with a level of acceleration unheard of in the sports car segment, propelling it from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds and past the 200 mph mark in a mere 24 seconds. Thanks to its 923 lb-ft, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4’s enormous propulsive power is not exhausted until it reaches 252.3 mph (406 km/h): the maximum speed for which chassis and drive train have been designed. Any further performance escalation is limited by current design and construction.

Also unique is the power transmission via an innovative directshift gearbox. Without any interruption in the power flow, the sequential seven-speed gearbox transmits the engine’s power to the wheels via permanent four-wheel drive. Put simply, this means uninterrupted acceleration from a standing start to maximum speed: a feeling previously known only to jet pilots.

for so long my dream car was an EK9 and now i have one :D

not too sure what it would be now :wow:

dream car the Honda Civic EK9!!! :blabla:

Do you know why I believe that the Bugatti Veryron isn't the ultimate car and that McLaren is still the ultimate one?
First of all, think about the specs of those 2 cars and compare their performance. The Veyron is actually a double engine car (4.0 L V8 each) to form a 8.0 W16 with four turbochargers and 1001 bhp. :wow: On the other hand, McLaren F1 is a 6.0 L V12 N/A with 670 bhp. The Veryon is enough faster from 0-60 but all this extreme specs and enormous power to make only 5 km/h top speed more than the F1. I also doubt if it can beat the McLaren on the track. I'm desperate to see a video with this battle.........:nerv: Don't you??
Second, McLaren F1 was/is and most probably will be the only concept car ever made to meet the Formula 1 specifications. From interior with everything being made of carbon fiber, driver placed on the center, the cokpit and engine sound etc......to exterior with aerodynamics that only McLaren expertise can provide......:blabla:
Its like comparing sofisticated engineering with brutal force just like comparing the EK9 with a 2.0 L turbocharged car with nothing special.......
I also believe Veyron isn't as exciting to drive as the McLaren, thats what testimonies claim as well..
That's my opinion. :D
It all depends on what you prefer though, personally I prefer superior engineering from brutal force

i read an article in evo car magazine where the veyron was tested against the f1, porsche, enzo and zonda, the veyron hammered them all in every aspect, it a serious car, apperently it pulled away from the zonda like a 350z from a datsun cherry:bow::bow:

Hmmm, thats a tough one. I'd have to have, a 67" cal look vw bug with a 2276cc engine, an R33 GTR Nismo 400R, a 911 turbo and a Shelby GT 500

Caparo T1. The next car by the designers of the Mclaren F1. It pulls 3+ G's of cornering and braking force, and has the best power to weight ratio (1000 hp/per ton) of any street car. It has enough downforce to drive upside down at 150mph! Most definetly the fastest street car around a track.

blinx the Ferrari FXX was not released as a street car right? It was just for Ferrari's research as this is what I've heard. Correct me if I'm wrong :drive:

correct you are, ok then the FXX is off my list then... i would have to say koenigsegg ccx-r or caparo T1 i cant believe i forgot about both of those.

the veyron is nice, but it just doesent appeal to me.
