in that case i would buy the break pad that has the least amount of noise and dust, something like wagner thermo quiet, or ebc green stuff.

the ebc green stuff make a lot of dust in my opinion. but they are not bad. :nice:

project mu mate!!! :bow::bow::bow:

Mu rotors (4 to pick from) and Mu pads (over a dozen to pick from) are very very good.. But its important to pick the right combination for your application and driving style..

I will be running Mu 8slot SCR with NR pads (still classed as Street sports!) on my car (EK9). Our DC5 used Mu SCR 2 piece with Type NR with Mu 4 pot calipers and they work very well.. Not too bitey that you lock up at slight pedal press, good pedal feedback is also important to stopping well..

6slots and Bspec pads will probably do you fine :nice:

they are the worst pads i ever used in any car, period,,
try something else you will not be dissapointed :)

That sounds like overkill for somebody who will use the car mainly as a daily driver with occasional romps down the quarter mile.

But I guess it's nice to have a green bell/tophat on your rotor.... not to mention slots.

OEM would be my choice. It's plenty capable imho...

nothing that j700k has written implies that he needs a brake upgrade,

if he said he was doing trackdays i woudl of reccomended dixel fcr slot discs and type z pads and good quality dot 5.1 fluid.

But seeing as he is road based and 1/4 mile i see no reason why onthing other than oem brakes are needed,

he is not going to be putting allot of heat into teh brakes and is not going to warp / get pad pick up on oem discs and pads for his application, horses for courses..

talkin bout pads went on a blast on a country road couple days ago pushing it quite hard and after bout 10 mins experianced seriously bad brake fade. Scared the hell out me as it took me longer to stop, when i did the front brakes had over cooked smoking quite badly, Just wondering if thats just down to the pads that are on the car ? not sure what they are but the discs look oem. And would it be worth while changing the brake fluid as well ?

if the pedal sunk lower than normal and you see weeping of the brake fluid out of the reservoir, it will be a good idea to change the fluid.

if you tend to push quite hard, you ought to have the dust shields removed completely. It's not that hard to do yourself, but it will more or less destroy the shield - to remove it in one piece requires pressing out of the hub...no thanks. I just opted to cut mine off.

I also wrapped the lower balljoint in some heat-reflective tape. Some of my track mates opted to leave a portion of the heatshield in place instead. Works good for fast road use and some light lapping....Ducting will be required still if you use on track/enduro.

yeah checked the fluid right after and all seemed ok just some really bad fade. Can`t help thinking if i was on a track and it happened i would of been gutted ! lol cheers for the info man:nice:

when i ran stock discs/pads/calipers i got bad brake fade a good few times, i like to brake hard and late though so that was why!!!

running AP dixcel PD plain discs and Endless CCX pads (spoon calipers too) and braking is unreal, no fade at all but you need to get some heat in the brakes to get the full potential, as they get hotter they just get better and better, so much so that you start to slide forward on your seat and if you push too hard on the pedal it feels like you're going to come to a standstill
