has anyone heard that if a car has water (liquid) dripping from your exhaust pipe means the car is healthy??

ive heard a couple of uncles and local men say it but no one has ever explained how and why??

Well, after your car has run for quite a decent length of time, the exhaust system gets hot, and once you shut down the engine, it begins to gradually cool over time, condensation can build up from the hot air in the exhaust.

Edit: With the days/nights being colder, you'll probably notice it more often.

ah i see its just a myth

As said it's condensation. If it's leaking water/coolant it's definitely not healthy! and you would get an absolute power of white smoke from the arse end.

echo this.. If you had anything untoward happening during the combustion process you would find it very noticable in the levels of smoke.

Most definitely just condensation.

i just remember when i was young people pointing at a car with water spurting out the exhaust and saying the engine is healthy.

never knew how or why...

i hope this doesnt turn into the 15hp centre cap thread!!

It just the products of combustion - Carbon dioxide and water.
