Recently, well not recently past winter summer i've ran my Civic on semi slicks and pretty much destroyed them on Trackday and continued to run them bald for a few months until i couldn't risk fines and points, so back on were the standard 15" Jordan alloys with Parada spec 2's that have roughly covered 600 miles. I now feel safer driving with bald semi slicks, feels like I'm driving a death trap now.

Anyone else experienced this as my tyres are not gaining much of my confidence after a long drive after work on both wet and dry roads. Could it be that 600 miles is not enough to bed the tyres in? :wow:

Parada spec 2 are crap tyres from my experience as well. Never had any confidence in them.

Spec 2's suck in the wet IMO, they offer pretty good grip in the dry though for a run of the mill street tyre.

Might just need a good scrub in if they have been sitting for a while, the rubber could have gone off. I noticed this with my t1r after they had sat for a while, now they are fine.

Do a burnout and it should help. Also decent 15” tyres are fairly cheap if you don’t feel confident on them.

Do a burnout... :naughty: i like the thought haha. Could just order some new semi slicks and get the volks back on.

Volks back on would be a good idea.. but obviously still do the burnout.. make sure its a rollback but :nice:

Which semi-slicks were you using out of interest, AO48, R888's? But yeh, spec 2's are not a great all round tyre to be honest.

I found vredestein sportrac 3's to be one of the best all round full road tyre I used, fantastic in the wet.

And out of interest? Anyone tried or planning on trying the new Nankang NS2-R? I had some of the standard NS2's on my old car and they were the worst tyres I have ever used!

Yeah, I zip around on semi slicks often. Not the greatest idea with the fast wear rate, but it is fun.

For the street only I prefer Toyo Proxes R1R rubber.

I was using Kuhmo v70a soft and medium compound. I would buy hard next time they wear really quickly but the grip is next level! Never used nangkangs before. Will just need to drive the other car for the time being.

Ad08. Don't get anything more hardcore until you really know what you are doing on track, super high grip = super high risk if something goes wrong.

Lee has a valid point here. And on lower grip tires with all the sliding around that can happen its a great way to learn car control.

I know what i'm doing round track :blabla: Rippu will tell you

Parada Spec 2's are a good budget tyre but a bit sketchy in the wet. I've got Yokohama AD08's now and can't praise them enough, so much better all round than the Parada, defaintely worth the extra money.

Even if you know what you are doing, its still a ton of fun...like try street tires on fronts and R's on the rear, then swap it around, its a blast!

There is always something to learn. I can imagine sticking streets on the rear and semi slick on fronts would be a right laugh!
