Trying to keep up with a 340hp evo is far from suicide as the majority of people who buy them do so because they cant drive for ****. I have outrun plenty evo 8,9+10's on my local mountain road all down to the fact i know the road+my car and they'r just guys with plenty of cash who like cars.
turbo b series costs mega money to do right. I know more than most lol.
As much as its super quick and keeps big powered Evo's at bay - its difficult to say whether its worth it or not.
The amount of parts you need to upgrade and stuff is ridiculous. So many little things that come into account (gearbox, clutch, oil cooler, breather kits, radiators, custom exhausts and intake pipes etc etc etc)
For £2k-£3k you can forget the turbo idea. You'll need 3 times that to do a half decent turbo build with reliability factored in.
B18 with breathing mods and a decent remap will be achievable for the £3k. Once you take Into account suspension and brake upgrades, you've not got much left. Would see you around 210hp and 135lb/ft
Strip the car out to nothing will give you a quicker car also.
yeah forget the evo...yeah it will be mainly i road toy
i want to get the most of a build that i can basically because in future it will be a track car.
i havent really thought about budget but im guessin around £2000- £3000
and that would be covering most of the engine.
i mean what sort of power am i talking if i spent £2000-£3000???
building my engine will be a performance garage based in loughbourough and mapping would be Garage 786(YASIR) who has the record for fastest B-series
no offence dude but don't you think one of the best people to ask would be the guys building your engine.....
i mean its all well and good us telling to go for B20 or B18 turbo but the fact is, if your engine builder has built 100's of b18's and has 1000's of hours worth of research and devlopment for b18's but has never built a B20 then get him to build you a b18...
what i mean is, the best thing to do would be to speak to the guys building the engine as i am sure they will able to tell you what you need for your power goals... i am sure yasir will have some good info for you on what he likes to map etc. as these guys are professionals in what they do.... or better than professional ( yasir ) lol
i mean of course listen to the guys above as alot are speaking from personal experience, but they aren't building YOUR engine....
