ok quick questions i know alot of you guys are great on here and i have seen blinx reply on soooooo many turbo things that i now think there is nothing he does not know =) lol

basically i am thinking of going turbo, nothing major just wanting to know what can the stock internals take as i want to bolt on turbo and not mess with the good work honda started with so that if i decide i want to un-turbo i can just take all off again i.e if come to sell car.

can i keep it the stock comp ratio or will i need a slight lower comp ratio for daily use, i do track the car sometimes so i want good useable power to still be able to handle the corners, not building a drag car and n/a build is a little to expensive and i love the idea of turbo and the sound is awsome

where is the best place to get all the parts? i saw a few ebay specials and not sure if they can be good for just the pipes and stuff just getting better turbo, mani and intercooler? or if the whole lot can be used as there are some good sellers on ebay

thanks guys

i looking at running about 0.5 to 1 bar boost, prob be running hondata s300 ecu when can get my hands on it
list so far what i am planning on getting (not bought yet)

T3/T4 Hybrid Turbocharger
Intercooler 27x6.5x3 (Direct Bolt-on)
2.25” Aluminized Mandrel Bent Piping (Total of 4)
High Pressure Silicon Hose (Total of 6)
Clamps (Total of 21)
Cast Iron Turbo Manifold
2.5” Stainless Steel Down pipe
Stainless Steel Connect Pipe
Stainless Steel Dump Pipe
Blow Off Valve
38mm Waste gate 7 psi
Valve Set for Waste Gate
Gasket Kit for Waste Gate
Steel Braided Oil Feed Line
Oil Return Line
Oil Pan Fitting
Vacuum Tee’s
Vacuum Lines
Gaskets and Bolts
skunk2 inlet
aem fuel rail

how much would i be looking power wise if this can be estimated and is there much more i would need?

will also be getting rid of my current exhuast system and getting a custom made one

Not really got a set budget was more of an on going thing buy stuff when I can an build it up I not in massive rush as I want new wheels aswell so got to buy them and sell my te37's so all in due coarse just wanted a few ideas on what I be getting out of it all to make sure it worth it or to save for an s15 :D

Could you really get away with leaving the stock internals untouched? If so how long would the engine last and what power could you get from a bolt-on with a map?

You can use the standard internals for a fair wack of power I believe as the internals were all hand built on the b16b and put in by hand, I want to know about the power I rekon about 250to300whp on standard internals as long as boost not to high

If you run on race gas all the time you can keep the stock compression, with a 100% perfect tune you can keep the stock compression but from what ive seen all the stock compression turbo b16b's always blow up in 6 months while the ones with thick headgaskets last ages. If it were me doing it all over again i would put a thick head gasket and ARP head studs at minimum :)

I really think the b16b is to high compression better off using a b16a lower compression be much safer with the same gains

Or do what i have done and use B18c pistons in the b16b. This will lower your c/r to around 9.2:1 and give you a much better shaped piston for the job.

I have been looking at arp head studs as I thought it would be a good idea thanks for the input everyone what gasket would be the best blinx9900? Size wise as I asume the make does not alter just the better manufacturing thanks

B18c pistons from a teg or can they be from a vti-s aerodeck? Do you need any more than just pistons? I want to keep it 1.6 really thanks Rich777

Head gasket? OEM is best!

But if I get arp head studs i need a thicker head gasket to lower compression is that right? An is that pretty much all the parts I need? Don't want to miss anything out gonna start buying bits soon :)

Yeah, i use Cometic head gasket with no problems.

oem all the way !

t3/t4 with what trim and AR ?

i would suggest to go for a Gt28 instead of big ass T3/4 turbos.

simply becuase the response of a ball bearing turbo are totally different :)

mate have look at ricky at racetech he's one of the best when it comes to turboing stock hondas.
