The future of F1... potentially.

I hope this cars make some kind of sound! lol! :(

Electric cars are pointless...Hydrogen is where its at.

Cool car though.

Electric car's wont be poinless in the future, when the technology is around and affordable for the batteries.. you can effectively 'fill up' for under 49pence.

Also think of how reliable they will be.. Relatively few moving parts compared to the internal combustion engine. Hell, im not expert on these but Im not even sure if these have brushes in them lol.

I know most of aircraft grade permo-magnet/Synchronous motors don't though. and I can only assume they would be running the same/similar motors.

At the min the problem is the batteries, thermal runaway within them.. :((

Electric cars are powered by burning fossil fuels, not really helping the long term problem. Just a lot of time, research and money being spent to create another problem that will need to be solved. And I agree, batteries are sh!t aha

However, I suppose I don't really know how efficient electric cars are in comparison to petrol, probably produces less carbon.

What happens at the pit stops? plug them into the wall :D

Yes they are, but it still work's out alot cheaper in comparrison to using fuel in cars. Also there's many ways to create cheap, cleaner electricity.

The oil has to be extracted from the earth via drilling rigs, then transported to a refinery, to be heated and fractioned, then finally transported to stations.

Well, soley electric cars will themselves produce nothing I guess, but then there's always the electricity - would cost considerably less I read in a article in the news, like 49p to fill up... lol

Depending on how many battery packs you got on I guess, I know 300-400 mile is easily achievable. I recon they would just change the packs, people might get angry waiting a hour for them to charge haha.

Who knows which alternative fuel source will be the true replacement for petrol/deisel? But wether we like it or not, motorsport is going to have to make that transition sooner or later......my first impression is, not a bad first effort for an electrical series. Have to see what the future holds.. :/

although it takes fossil fuels to make electricity, do have any idea of how much energy it takes to seperate hydrogen?

and walton calm your hardon down just because mr mechanic impressed you, if he told u all cool men wore hot pants and tank tops you would jump on the wagon

love you

I know its "green" and all that, but i will stick with what i have the now...... I will be like Will Smith in IRobot, have it tucked away in a garage for when it all goes tits up!

Looks smart, see if as annoying as same noise going round and round and round ...

No idea, my point was meant to highlight that renewable resources are the long term future. Not electric cars indirectly powered by fossil fuels.

IMO no mather how fast they would be, nothing will be like it was :nono:

Ooo the Senna era, good old times.....

^ This dude knows what he's talking about, not bashing on E/C, its just not the future, its just buying time till they to get Hydrogen under control.

GM started it, Honda is making it a reality.
