are these any good and what benefit does it give on a standard engine?

Hi there,

There is no benefit to the engine as such.. The engine torque damper is designed to reduce engine movement under hard acceleration and engine braking.. This reduces wheel hop when accelerating hard and allows more power to the wheels rather than using engine power to move the engine on the mounts. I've used J's, Spoon, Seeker and Feel's engine torque dampers before and they are all pretty good bits of kit..

They come complete ready to install - no drilling etc necessary.

Ha Ha i broke mine the other day. I managed to kill two engine mounts in the process. I accidently put my car in 2nd gear not 4th gear on the motorway. No damage cause other than that.

They do make a differance though, more control over wheel spinnage

These are brillaint! Had mine on the car for a while and only set it up properly last saturday! Noticed the different on standing starts straight way! Far less wheel spin/hop:nice:

I can't notice any difference other than you could see on the dyno my engine moved arround much less than other B16's. Other than that...... not really to sure

How tight have you got it? Too tight and the cabin vibrates a bit, too soft and you notice no difference :nono:

right up believe. I do feel a lil bit of cabin vibration but that goes when the engine has warmed up. Wouldn't notice much as its partially stripped anyway.

Right retract my statments.

WOW what a difference this damper has made. When launching really hard drive goes straight to wheels!! No engine rock when the wheels where spinning. Then banging it through second and 3rd straight to the wheels. I even had it spin on gear change 2 to 3rd in the dry with very warm tyres!!

:nice:

Bazza is it the same price for delivery to Dublin, Ireland?

Under heavy engine braking these perform best - the best one I've used is the Feel's one on our DC5.. Awesome

you can spin tires w/out engine damper , just hold gas on 4000 when you switching it and leave clutch aggressive, I do that all the time. engine damper have nothing with hopping wheels, coil overs hold them from hopping.

Well my dad put a J's one on his DC2 along with spoon engine mounts and actually put poly inserts in two of the spoon mounts lol and what a difference. No drama through the cabin at all just solid spinning, no dash shake or rattle at all.

Good afternoon.
I wonder if you still have in stock the item for an EK4. What is the total cost (value of the item + shipping) to Portugal? What form do I pay? thanks
