Im going to get some front and rear speakers because the ones on the car dont work anymore. What brand do you guys recommend? Now im not big on sound systems, subs, amps and stuff, so im just looking for some basic speakers to be able to listen to music. Also what size are the fronts? I think the rears are 6 x 9 but someone correct me if im wrong. :thanks:

hi there i think the front ones are 6.5inchs and yes the back ones are 6by9. before you buy any speakers take your speakers out to see what kind of connection it is because on some they are a special adapter which means you have to cut them and re-wire the to fit your speakers but if they are normal spade connects your good to go. then you have to think about the size of the magnets on the front speakers because theres not much space in the door . and theres a chance you'll not be able to open your window properly.
any aftermarket speaker will be be good but i personally like pioneer, alpine, ect
hope this helps

I have alpines up front and HAD alpines rear, but in the process of stripping my car, so no rear speakers

Alright, so i got some pioneer speakers. Both front and rear, hooked them up but the front left one doesnt work. Ive tried testing another one, even re-wired it but no luck. I dont know what the problem is, all the other ones work.

I think you'll be better off getting 'slim' (or small magnet) speakers for ease of fitting, as there is not much space for chunky magnets to fit in the door card..

Yeah i got slim ones. And they fit perfectly, but no sound comes out the front left one.

if its a aftermarket heatunit, pull it out and check all the speaker wire's are good, did it work before you put new speaker in?

No, it didnt work, but thats because i thought it was the speakers. Ill check the wiring in the head unit. Thanks.

iirc front is 5.25" but 6.5" fits as long as you do mind doing some minor cutting, i have pioneer components in mine, love it!!

I got 6.5 and I didn't have to do any cutting. :nice: im going to check that wiring today.

6,5" AFAIK.

@linh: if you have to choose between only those two, I'd definetely go for Alpine.

Holy thread revival!

I'm going for 5.25s, but how TF can I get decent wire to them? Struggling to feed the wires to the doors through the rubber tube.

Thanks.

EDIT:- to answer - I didn't. I took advice and simply spliced onto existing speaker wire, both speaker side and head-unit side.
