ok guys you've probably heard this question about 3,000,000 times before and ive used the search button to. ive read on this site that ek9 civic type r can do 0-60mph in 5.7seconds, for a standard car that has 185bhp (with no modifications) seems alittle unrealistic, as the civic 1.6 vti does it in about 7.5seconds (160bhp), any confirm this for me, thanks

hello ! thats what honda says, i think it should be between 6 to 7 seconds, depending on climate conditions an altitude! :nice: i'll try to find my time slip when i went to the 1/4 mile track and let you know.

hello there i found my time slip. the only mods i got that day was, comptech race exaust and a carbon fiber hood.

330 FEET
TIME 6.547
MPH 72.23

This track is almost at sea level, i felt the car a lot faster.

So this means, honda might be correct! :nice:

hondas number are probably using the stripped down version without recaros, no stereo, no pw/ps/ac etc... just a guess. driver weight also lays a role

lol since japanese drivers weight like 90 pounds lol

The VTi may be close in horse power (160vti / 185ek9) but it lacks in putting the power to the ground (in comparison to the ek9) and is alot heavier.

I repeat once again what are the official specifications: for EK9 0-100 km/h is 7 secs, for DC2 is 6.8 and for SIR II(170 hp) is 7.3. These numbers can be affected a lot from the ground level and from the engine condition. Those people who speak about great numbers are true but they are not aware of these two conditions and they try to make others to believe something that is wrong. Read the figures!!!!!

Ok, 60 mph = 96 km/h, I already new that. So, why don't you subtract a couple of decimals from what I said to see that even then it cannot go below 6.8 - 6.9? :loser:

JDM = Japanese Domestic Market
N/A = Naturally Aspirated(no turbo, nor compressor or whatever, just atmospere)

ManosEK9 who you calling a loser ya noob, i have owned more hondas in 1 week than you will probably own in your life, i have also worked with Honda, Factory times in the HONDA bible (Stats Book) state for the ek9 ctr is 5.7secs 0-60mph

The official press release for the EK9 also stated 5.7secs 0-60mph so if thats BS then Honda would be using false adverising which they dont

Distance Time
0-60mph : 5.7 seconds
0-1/4mi 15.0 seconds at 94mph

Im sending Asimo round to give you a slap! :nice:
