been offered a swap for my car and want to get some opinions

i had no intention of selling my car but always kept an eye out for a 20v white over black AE86 trueno as i love them

im honestly not too pushed about levins as never have really liked them but the spec on this is massive

the sideskirts, rear diffuser, rear lights, the colour and the red engine bay are my biggest dislikes about the car

its a 1984 toyota levin 20valve which he was asking €12,500 for

DTDIRL Forums

for those who dont know my car,
its stroked to 1.8, zeal function's, J's Racing induction kit, mugen ecu, fujitsubo B pipe and 5Zigen axle back to name but a few mods

here are a few arty pics

Personally i wouldn't. Especially after spending so much time and money getting it to the spec you have it at now.

The guy must of done an engine swap since there wasn't a 20 valve 4A-GE in 1984? I am guessing it is the silvertop 4A-GE. The AE86's body is getting old now so might need to do some repairs/respray and is rarer than an EK9. I say follow what your heart :D.

It is certainly a fun car to drive.

You need to register to view that forum link btw.

he didnt build it he bought it done like that

twincams hold their value well tho

yea well i put the coilovers on it and the exhaust and tidy'd up the exterior and put a carbon bonnet on it so it looked very different from when i bought it

this is what it used to look like SGT. keyboard

the real selling point is that its a 1.8 other than that its like every other ek9
thats what i meant by saying it was bought a 1.8 correcting honda junkie

i personally wouldn't exchange for it. over 20 years old, bound to have problems with reliability. one of my mates had nothin but trouble with his

no no no no no no no no.... please don't... just my opinion.

I think you'll regret it lee

Personal opinion here and sorry if this offends but that car is really, really ugly!! Keep the 9. The other car is a head turner, but for the wrong reasons.

can i ask why you would be tempted by this car if you dont like the sideskirts/colour/rear diffuser/lights and the main thing the colour!?

To change all that would cost alot of money and if you replaced the skirts it wouldnt look right as they go with the rest of the body. So you would need to change a heck of alot and spend alot of £££......

If i were to ever concider swapping my pride and joy that i am happy with then the car would in question would need to be exactly how i like it.

Would you need agree?

Personally i think it looks pretty mad in a cool way. But i would not have it. There are many other AE86 that look more to my taste. That looks a bit tacky from angles. The colour is nice but the red bay is horrible!

ae86's look right when done the right way i do like em when done the right way takr the editor of banzai's it was dam near factory standard and looked sweet with a 2.0 transplant you're into drifting fun however the spec on you're 9 is sweet so id stick with it!1 as said above would take lots of time/money to clean that 86 up!! :)

I agree with that, the main thing that I dislike about that one was the colour!
