seats tested

That Bride seat means ur f00ked. Because you shift out of it, your head is not supported anymore.

Is there any way to tell whether either of the seats are genuine Recaro/Bride?

There is no doubt in my mind that the Recaro would perform as indicated....but I am shocked at the Bride simulation :wow:

They have a huge reputation in Japan and were one of the first companies to recieve official FIA approval:

There are pictures of both Recaro's and Brides having undergone actual crashes, and bits of both of them holding up less than well:

Probably extremely rare cricumstances though, I think in the above pic only 3/4 bolts were in place!

Nevertheless my point is that there are so many almost perfect copies of Bride out there, since BRIDE didn't bother to secure the copyright laws in the US and Canada......hence why so many people are getting away with using the exact same logo and seat models. BUT.....manufacturing quality will never match that of genuine BRIDE seats!

I'd be interested to know whether the seat in the video was a Bride from Japan, or an extremely good copy :p

Funny how everyone wants a Bride seat in their car. I wonder what the carbon bucket seats look like in a crash.

Does the type of seatbelts also help during a crash like that? They were just using standard seatbelts as a test. Shouldn't a shoulder strap keep you down?

not if the seat is moving backwards no, its going to go slack obviously. harness or oem seatbelt, the seat belt is there to stop you going through the windscreen or head butting the steering wheel, the lap part of the belt keeps your ass in the seat, depnding on how far the seat bends back depends on the efficiancy of the lap belt, the seat backrest and head rest are the suport for rear colisions:nice:
