I know theres generally alot of threads on this forum, about B18C swaps or Stroking the B16B, but one thing that I havent seen generally covered is the costs involved with each?

Is it more cost efficient to say, buy a B18C and try and sell the B16B, or to Stroker Kit the B16B?

Can people maybe post what they have done, how much it cost and what it included?

Cheers, Sam.

stroker kit is largley discontinued, buy a b18C from an integra and sell on your b16b

X3!:nice:

I don't think alot of people would like to disclose to the whole world how much money they have spent!lol

I just looked into doing a stroke or swap and ended up going with the swap. [kept the b16 tho...just in case.]

If you manage to pick up a B18C for a similar price to the amount you sell your B16B for(which is possible) Then your basically paying for labour which is a 1 day job by most competent mechanics.

That pretty much answers your question.

Stroking is going to cost at least £1000-£1500 labour Excluding parts. If i were to rebuild my motor i would only want to use brand new internals especially pistons and rods. They are not cheap.

Can you not buy all the parts from honda yourself?

i would like to do either of these in time, but honestly i like the idea of stroking my 16b more to keep that agressive, revvy feel of the engine

By stroking your B16B you will have the exact same set up as a B18C. I see these sort of comments alot, people saying they want to keep that aggressive revvy feel. The B18CR feels much more aggressive/powerful but slightly smoother vtec crossover. They rev exactly to the same point!

And yes you can buy all the parts from Honda at a large cost.

Can get a Stroker kit for £1000 but with labour on top seems to be worth gretting a whole B18C!

One advantage of stroking is you get to rebuild your engine so everything is refreshed.

I'd love to see how a sleeved b16b would go - short stroke but 1800

I got a quick email quote ffrom a very reputible company for £1050 for a 'drive in drive out' b18 swap, that includes new cambelt + water pump too, gives you an idea.

Pretty expensive for 1 day of labour and 250 on parts of you ask me.

Yep I thought that, broken down it was

£350 labour
£1200 for the b18
-£500 for the B16b in part ex ha

Be better off selling the b16b privately, i just dont have anywhere to store it to sell.

Ooooh ok, including B16B-B18C swap, that's different then :)

Wow thats what I thought. Seems like a good deal to me. Does that include the B18 ecu ?

Assume so, was just an email quote so not set in stone, basically asked how much it would cost to drive my ek9 in, leave it with them and drive home with a B18 in.
