Yo! i got a Power FC and finally got it mapped on friday by Steve at FCTuning.com

video of it

MEDIA

Stock ECU had a peak power of 165 and with Power FC 170.

My car has breathing mods, engine is stock.

Steve the tuner is a genuine guy, he street tunes the car on the way to the dyno and then dyno tune then fine tune again on the way back home.

If any of you are thinking of getting a car mapped, give him a call, I would recommend him.

On to the car, i know the numbers seems a bit low, but plotting the OEM curve and the FC curve, theres gains all the way through the revs, got a lot of torque increase all the way through.

(will take a pic of the graph tomorrow)

Throttle response is instant, car drives smoother, and I really notice the gain at high gears driving round town slow. the car just keeps pulling until I change .

Nice video. I must do something like that when I dyno my car! You car looks mint btw you should get some recent pics up:)

Your EK9 does sound really sweet, just watching the mapping video again :nice:

yeah I think he is more turbo than N/A,

hehe, I like the raspyness

Nice T, what were the tuning costs & how long did they spend on it timewise? You can never expect big gains on a near standard N/A car but it does iron out all the 'flat' spots :nice:

Cars rarley meet factory power figures. Tmus car is 9 years old also, like most 9's a little power is lost over time.

cool just checking never really thought about it like that.
intend to be buying one in the near future

Im glad your happy and it was good to meet you and put name to face.

The car drives really nice, and the drivability and reponse is superb and crisp. Your tempting me to get one of these little mota's

Id have to turbo it though, i couldnt leave it alone

Keep in touch

Steve

hope you are happy with the result :)
is that fly or whp?

Hi babyface..

for your reference as you asked....the car produce on the day 140whp and 170 @ the fly and 120ft ibs of torque based on the environmental conditions and temps at the time.

let me know if you have any other questions, but im sure T will get the graphs up for you, but you can alway pause the dyno video that i produced of the runs. Obviously that vid doesnt show the steady state tuning and loading the engine up. (have to cut it down due to server space sorry as with most of the ones I get around to recording when i can be bothered, but im sure you get the drift)

from experience , your absolutely correct, honda's in particular, though some will have a good day.

But most cars in general dont make their factory claimed fig and you can always go on this as the quality of fuels and oils used can vary from refinery and country. Also ambient temps and heaps of other factors have to be taken into account. The dyno is simply their to aid in tuning (like any other tool) accept you can see gains and one is able to focus more on ignition and seeing where the engine (no matter what engine it is) looses or makes power, especially in the case of cam adjustment and dialing in cam timing, fuel pressures, etc etc.

thought the ek9 was 185bhp as standard ???????

No it's to the crank!
Usually they loose about 15 - 30% due to the syntritical metal mass.

hope you are happy with the result :)

on the Dyno so it's to the wheels.
Seem's about right for a B16B.

I'm quite interested in the power and torque curve and what you gained each 500RPM. Peak power doesn't say anything. :nice:

steve_fctuning - May i ask how much you woul dbe looking for a Power FC and Mapping carried out by yourselves?
