been looking at the two 3 point strut bars and can discern these differences:

price: password cheaper

design: carbing as the bit that goes on to the firewall has an extra bar and appears to be more rigid therefore

looks: debateable

material: both alu, but password apparently incorporate a bar in the middle whereas carbing are hollow.

anyone else? cant find much more on this comparison

i like the carbing with the optional master cylinder brace but i think its just too expensive, i'd go with the Password bar...

what is the benefit of a 3 point one over a standard strut?

if money were no object and we were compairing the two bars:

well carbing is from japan = quality?

whereas password jdm is american but this by no means says its not as good

carbing came first

carbing has a brake cyclinder stopper but this may not be relevant if its incompatable with some other mods

also - i read a review where someone sed they cud flex the password bar with their own strength alone when installing it - anyone tried this with the carbing

just type password jdm into google to find their site

as for the colour of the bar itself - the finish and colour is up to personal preference

carbing may have come first but RIGID was the orignal one so there both copies. I doubt the carbing bar is made in japan but thats another story as they are both quality parts. in regards to flex, you can bend just about any strut bar if you apply force in the middle, they are not made to take load in that direction, i doubt you could bend it by applying force to each end...

yea - its just through some internet search that someone metioned. Then if what is on the site is correct - password jdm does appear to be better as it has the bar through the middle and it is not just hollow - unless the material and design strength of the carbing is different. From some pics the carbing bar looks stronger joint and weld wise but this may be the illusion due to the shiny metal lol

Not mine BTW.

Myself & Tmus have the Password. It cannot be bent unless you were to put a knee in the middle, then possibly, but as has been mentioned..a pointless excercise. Quality & welding are good. It is better because it has 3 fixing points, and it fits directly over the suspension mounts. Handling is tighter, seems to really firm up the front.

Thanks for the pics guys - i know its just preference but sadly i dont know why I analyse things a bit tto much - both bars look superb to be honest.

The mcs on the carbing is a nice touch and sways it for me nearly but the price! i could get a full set with rears from password for it

also - just looked at my ek9, i seen to have some sensors which are mounted on a metal plate which seems to foul the part that the mcs sits on... will have another look

oh haitch and Tmus - wat is the bronze colour like in real life on the bars? does it scratch easily?

Its a nice bronze, I will take some close up pics if the weather improves. I wouldnt say it scratches easily & once fitted it shouldnt have anything to scratch it! :D

Yeah same with my ITR. I just unbolted the metal bracket and left the plugs hanging free, plugs actually sit nicely tucketed under my master brake cylinder.....

Personally I really like the Colour! and feels nice to touch a well....

Mine has tiny surface dent size of an ant on it...i think it from from moving around...other than that it is perfect..

Definately well built, you can just feel it and it is very solid.

oh and it is very light

As said before get the PasswordJDM as it is well priced, but for the ultimate I really like the MCS with the Carbing one.(which i have just bought a Cusco one)
