Haven't seen any mention of people using Nos on the forum, for drag racing this stuff is really effective.

Here is a example of a b18c with 50shot nitrous kit that was in to get mapped recently. Green line is engine running NA and red line is when the nitrous is turned on.

The ecu is setup to activate a relay which energises the nitrous solenoid, fuel and ignition compensation tables come into play and it's only active once the set parameters are reached so can be set to only turn on at full throttle and above x rpm.

NA Run - 202.7bhp and 142.0 Ft.lb torque
Nitrous Run - 247.1bhp and 196.0 Ft.lb torque.

Increase of 44.4bhp and 54 FtLb's torque!

That is ridiculous!! How much are the kits? and are they bad for a standard engine?

That line goes backwards for a brief second? How can that be?
I bet that spins the wheels like mad aswell lol

Second hand i've seen decent kits sell for 400-500euro. As with everything if used in moderation it's fine.

That was due to wheel spin, loss of traction to the roller but the dyno maintaining applied load so the roller slowed down a little, same reason it's a little wavy between 5500-6000rpm, slowly regaining traction.

Oh right makes sense.
I bet that's like a kick in the back on the road? The lines are vertical lol

Yeah as you can imagine jumping 50+ftlb's pretty much instantly your going to know about it:))

Are they safe to run on the engine? And how long does the nitros last?

Yes once set up right it's fine to use. I wouldn't recommend doing 5th gear pulls to the limiter with it as your going to create a lot of heat the longer your spraying it but for the likes of drag racing over a 1/4 mile it's ideal and a real cheap power adder. I've mapped a stock k20 on a larger jet which made 330bhp. How long it lasts will depend on tank size and how much you use it. A 11lb nitrous bottle on a 50shot will last you a fair few runs.

How expensive is nitrous to refill? I wouldn't imagine it being that cheap,

Almost max power from 6800 to 8800. the nos really gives you a wide power band. what ever about peak gains. impressive.
still cheating doh haha

That's is just unreal!... Prob wouldn't be ideal in a road car as you'd be hitting vtec nearly a few times a day and the bottle wouldn't last long..

Cheap power gains, im surprised more people dont use nos for drag racing about here.
