Hi,

I've got a sticky calliper on my rear passenger side which needs replaced. I'm going to do the rear disks and pads as well. I've spoken with a local supplier (via my mechanic who has an account) who can do all the pads for £12 and both the disks for £60 (plus VAT). This seemed pretty good to me but I'll need to double check they are the correct ones - am I right to request DC2 items to make sure they come in the right fitment?

They've quoted £145.66 (plus VAT) for the replacement calliper however - are there cheaper or better alternatives I should be looking at online? Any links?

I've had a quick search but couldn't find many useful links.

Thanks!
Wayne

which bit is sticking mate? I.e the sliders or the piston its self?

I think it's the piston itself as it took some elbow grease to get it off - I could have the wrong part though. It was my mate (the mechanic) who said it's probably best to just replace the whole unit.

Is that for a refurb unit with a surcharge? I used Brakeparts.co.uk for my rear calipers, can't remember exactly how much they were but IIRC it was around £70 per side.

Nah that price was just for a new calliper. I had a quick look for refurbished units but the website I found seemed dead. I'll check out that one you mentioned.

I'll phone for a price on that kit in the new year. Do you recall how much you paid?

Are there any places to get replacements online instead of refurbishing? Would be a bit easier for me to just replace the calliper.

Hey,

I dismantled the calliper and it looks like the piston has some corrosion on it - not sure it's worth rebuilding now.

Are there any places to get replacement pistons? Or if not where is best to get callipers as the local place wants £140 plus VAT and needs to order them in specially anyway?

Cheers
