new exhaust law in ireland????


i'm sure there will be a law soon in uk as i got a telling off by the cops for having too loud exhaust and reving ecxessievly....i hope not soon thoug
 
well lads my car has no cat and the rest a 3 inch straightthrough and it breezed through emissions not a bother. was well under. but as for noise the police in N.ireland are complete c*^ts. but you on occassions come across the dead on 1 from time to time. Recently wer i live there doing every1 for very little and this law is a load of balls btw use people saying they wont carry it out. FFS theres a law that stats that your not aloud to soud your horn in a public place after 11pm.
 
haha what apout mine?? straight pipe to buddy club spec 3 exhaust^^ even with the silcencer on a dead man will wake up

wow pass no probs...?? i failed even with a few tries now i have to put back the cat when i go for mot..
soon noise pollution laws....certain above db and you fail the mot too...hope not :please:
 
Wow, sounds like the Irish police are on a mad one atm! Could soon become like France where modding is effectively illegal, so all the french tuners have headwork / cams etc that they keep quiet running on standard I/H/E !

UK M.O.T stations are clamping down on number plate lettering pretty hard in the UK atm, but thats about as tough as it gets for us (and there was me moaning about that...), feel for you guys!
 
Got an AA mag in the door the other day...it said NCT changes from april 1st 2010-The vehicle exhaust noise must be no greater than 99db! and from june 2011 cars over 10 years old will must be tested annually!What a nitemare:mad:

Im sorry but wtf are you on about ars being over 10 years old will be checked annually. Sure atm the law states that any car 3years on. when it turn 4 it will have 1st mot check then every year that follows. So any car 10years or older already gets mot annually

We get our cars nct'd every two years.. I heard about it also that over ten years old they will be tested every year
 
yea apparently from the first of april there will be new nct laws. your exasust along with most of your other mods are all going to be banned so if your car is heavilly modified you will simply have to bring it back to almost standard so that you will pass the nct!!! im not 100% sure that this is true! just what i heard. all i no is that if it is true then its going to be a pain in the arse
 
its not cars ten years or older, its cars pre 2000 if its this april and pre 2001 if it comes in next year. for example in 2016 it'll be still all cars pre 2000/1 that will have to be tested every year, no more of the future classics being exempt basically. The exhaust thing is easily fightable, look at ferrari's, i'm sure they're not under 99db. It says the cars must not be altered, once they're "not altered" here, ie they were imported this way, f*ck all they can really do about it. A nice smile and €50 in the ash tray goes a long too ha
 
yup tis pure bull poop sure one of my mates s15 fail on a rusty screw on the number plate!!!!!!! and that is no lie:shocked:
just seems as if every one is out to get modified car enthusiasts:((
