hopefully got a loan sorted so should be picking the 9 up this weekend providing everything goes ok. some of you will have noticed ive already asked a few questions. im planning on giving it a full service (all belts, fluids, filters ect) and checking everything over to make sure its mechanically sound. ill also be undersealing everything and making sure paintwork is in good condition before i start modifying.

i was just wandering, is there any mods that need to be done first? ive seen it pop up in a few places that a baffled sump is highly recommended, in reference to the vtec solenoid.

can anyone shed any light on this? and/or offer some more advice?

A lot of time and effort has made to make the search function on this forum effective, stop trying to get other people to wipe your arse for you and use the search function.

i was only asking for advice, its a forum its designed for members to share advice and opinions.

Well, firstly congratz on hopefully getting your Ek9! :nice:

Since it only takes a couple of mins just to type, and help you out.. here goes.

The Ek9 is a well balanced car as standard to be honest, no real mods are needed in all fairness. Baffled sumps arn't a must, unless you track often to prevent oil starvation from cornering/braking hard.

My ek9 started off standard, and I started with the usual Intake and exhaust system, then suspension, wheel's, brakes. Then the track bug hit and got it overhauled lol.

This might help, comparison on most intakes / exhaust systems

No need to rush in with modifications...enjoy it standard and modify it slowly. Its a great car as standard, so no rush. Congrats on the purchase :nice:

Cheers lads :) i know i know im not going to mod it straight away...cant bloody afford it!

Its got some modifications already, tein coilovers, spoon exhaust and spoon ecu so that should keep me satisfied :D

I made the mistake of modifying my old car in the wrong way, i had more power before upgraded brakes and suspension and stuff so im going to do this one properly

As said in the other thread, check the coilovers out, if they are superstreets I would highly recommend selling them on and replacing with some stock ek9 suspension for a while. I you decide you want to go stiffer/lower/whatever then there are far better options about, just be sure you really wan to upgrade as the stock suspension is really rather good for general road use.

I recently got mine around a month ago, all im worrying about is a full service, clean up and cosmetics before i start modding, just my preference.

i only asked if there was anything that people recommend doing i.e baffled sump. im just thinking engine safety ect before i do anything.
