thank goodness you were in the EK9, if you were in this car it may have been a different story.

Sounds like you let off the power for about HALF a second as you go into the corner? ack!

:nono:

what happened man ?

To cut a long story short the rear end gave way going round a bend but luckily it pulled itself straight when I kept the shoe in. It seems T1R's just peel away when they get very hot:angry2: Time to fit some r888's I think.

That was lucky !!

Yup would invest in some new rubber after that man !

nice recovery!!! cant wait to get there in mine in may!, sounded like you lifted off just as you turned in :nerv:, i kept flatout in mine once i realised where to aim it over the blind bit! (took a few laps lol) i was in an ek4 though so no doubt alot slower than you were going!

Nice lap time :D Cant wait to see the full video!

how are you finding the dc5? performance, handling etc.
just want to know because i thinking of getting one in the future..
nice save by the way:nice:

Hi, yea its good. I went with a mate that had a ek9, and he was quicker up 2 80-100mph then i started to pull on him, the dc5 doesen't feel as planted as a ek9 but after afew laps and i learnt how to control the weight shifting, it became a very very quick car. The ek9 imo is a easier car to drive quick, the dc5 just takes alittle longer to know where you are with it. Always feels like the weight is shifting from the front to the rear at unpredictible moments, were as my ek9 just felt really well balanced. The k20 is a brilliant engine and 20laps diden't effect it one bit, but as i said my mates ek9 seemed to pull on me up till 100 then i would start to reel him in. With afew mods tho the dc5 could be a very very good car. Im in two minds atm to keep it, get a kpro etc done, or sell it and get a k20 ek9.

Would deffo reconmend one.

Yea ring is awsome, aint enjoying been back in England lol!

Holy crap my schvincter would have been going 10-a dozen through there! Although you lifted very slightly going to the r/h which unweighted the rear through the corner.

None the less good driving that could have been extremly costly and dangerous as that is a fast bit of track.

I noticed my rear was a bit loose last year again it was tyre pressures in the rear. Although not quite 40psi! Going to have Nitrogen put in them this year as its a LOT more stable.

I'm supprised by you entry to the left/crest before your incident. I was tought to lift slightly before that to get the car settled then power over it.

Yea had to take a diff line as i had just overtaken a VW. Yea nitrogen is aparently awsome, my mate had them in his r888s in his ek9 and that went really well.

So easy to make a little mistake over there! And it not be caused by you.

I've got nitrogen in my Road tyres and they are not showing any signs of wear yet i'm sure thats down to the fact they don't over heat due to increased tyre pressures. The tyres are very consistant in all temps. Keen to try it on R888's on a race track.

Had a **** on with the R888s trying to get the right pressures though :( Never got them right all weekend.

I found 32psi hot front and 30psi rear. Although i could push much harder when i ran 28 rear but the thing was understeering quite a bit. But gave me more confidence in the rear end.

I think with my plated diff i will be running 32 28 hot.

Nitrogen is pointless

My mate used to work as a tyre fitter and would fill his own R888's with nitrogen before trackdays at knockhill in his dc2, pressures would still inflate a fair bit! Just carry a decent tyre pressure gauge and monitor pressures before and after laps

awesome to see someone driving the ring hard...

that's how i ddrive it on GT5 but in real life Noooooooooooo way lol
