Hello folks,

I am Koen, and I live in Brussegem, a very small town near Brussels, Belgium (Europe). I’ve been a user of this forum for quite some time now.

Since the end of june 2008, I can finaly call myself a proud EK9 owner too !!! :nice:

The 9 has been my dream car for quite some time, and I’ve been doubting very long if I should import one to my country or not (since we all have LHD cars here).
In January 2008 I contacted Duncan from fastjapcars to find out if he could source me a good car (auctions) and arrange the transport from Japan straight to Belgium for me.

The search was a bit hard (and long :D), but in the end we found the right car for me. Transport was perfect and it arrived in Belgium exactly in the condition that was on the auction report. After a good wash and polish, my EK9 looked shiny shiny, and I was, and am still very very happy with it.

I made a few adaptations to get te car registered in Belgium (headlights, fog-light, seatbelts), and arranged the paperwork myself. I must say that it was all pretty easy to deal with. Importing my 9 was much easier then I expected. :D

The driving sensation is, like most of you will agree to, amaaaaaaaaaazing !! :shocked: :bow:

I would like to thank Duncan again for sourcing the right car for me, and being so friendly. Seriously, if anyone is thinking about importing an EK9, talk to this guy, he knows all about EK9’s and can pick out the real good ones !! Thumbs up for the man! :nice:

Anyway, enough with the talking, let’s show some pictures!!

Specs:

- 1999 Honda civic TYPE R EK9 (GF-EK9)
- Championship white

- OEM Honda Acces window visors (were already on the car)

[update 11-4-2010]:

awesome, if i lived in brussels i woudl be shooting off down to the nurburgring in germany once a month in that EK9.. not too far from you

Hehe, I know, already been there. Not with the 9 yet, but I will definitely do that in the near future (if the weather is good). It's about 2,5 hours drive from my place. Pretty scary circuit isn't it, especially with all those Porsche GT3's and such flying around your ears :wow:

@Blitz:

Thanx)

@ek9ant

Yeah man, I was surprised too that they showed up and helped me out. We spent a whole day washing and polishing the hell out of it!!
I even got a friend who actually enjoys washing the cars of his friends!!!
(Yeah Witse, you're famous now!! Thanx for cleaning my car man!! :D :nice:!)

Hi
I am so glad you have got it all sorted without too much hassle. I was worried you would end up being stuck with a car you could never drive on the road.
So are you getting a lot of looks?
All the best, thanks Duncan

Hehe, no, the paperwork for homologation in Belgium was really not that hard to do. It took me about 2,5 months to get it street-legal (could be faster, had a little delay because of summer holidays :) )

Yeah once in a while I see people staring at my car. But maybe it's rather because the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. Maybe they're all thinking: what kind of a fool is he, he's probably english :D:D

Thanks again for helping me out man, you know that !! :nice:
If I ever have to be in England sometime, I'll definitely pay you a visit!

Greets!!

Yes that would be nice to meet. Would you be going along to Nur for the EK9.org meet there?
Dunx
