I saw some of you guys do this with the preface bumpers, i wanted to try it with the 200- bumper. By the way I felt a really nice difference for $15

So the material is aluminum tubing i guess for A.C. units. its flexible, cheap, and replaceable.

I used door guards to seal the aluminum to give a nice flush look.

Then I brought the aluminum tubing through facing the intake

and bam instant air :)

Nice DIY set up, I may just have to look into something like this myself. Nice job :nice:

good job !
i use the same material !!
your car is an ej ?
mine is a pre facelift and i opened a hole at the bumper the pipe runs from the stock hole at the chassis .

that looks class well done! I am doing something similar on my pre-facelift bumper. where did you get those door guards please? I have been looking for something like that for ages!!

my cx model actually doesnt have the hole in the chassis, which is really upsetting because i wouldnt have to curve the tubing but w/e. I actually bought a circular saw but it didnt work.

The door guards i bought at advanced auto parts.

Thanx guys for the appreciation

You think you could buy me a pack and post them to me please as I dont think I could get them in the UK? I will send you payment via paypal, etc??:)

I remember when I did this to my js racing intake.
You'll need a shield now and it's all good.

Seems a pretty cool idea, would like todo something similar only I don't have the facelift bumper with the vent there :(

Dale.

just cut a hole in the pre-facelift bumper like I am going to do, fit a ram intake pipe in the hole and attach your cold air feed to it, sorted!:)

I'd be pretty scared ' Just cutting a hole ' in my bumper haha!

Pictures when you've done it please :)

Dale.

On my facelift bumper i just cut around the black "vent" with a new stanley blade, very accurately and it only took me afew minutes to cut through. then just gave it a quick file down and sand to smooth it. i have a AEM v2 so it no doubt inceased cold air flow to it..

hey I saw on ebay a way better deal on door guards. You get 25ft! :) check it out.

Door Edge Guard Molding * Quarter inch by 25 foot BLACK: eBay Motors (item 150472641502 end time Aug-06-10 04:33:39 PDT).

I felt a very noticable difference. My power band just feels way smoother. Honestly its one of those things you just cant loose out on. Its so simple, cheap and effective. Just my opinion.

Hey i really wanted to make a shield! Do you think you can post pics or maybe give advise on what materials to use.

That looks smooth. May I ask where the rectangular ram air is from?

if you are refering to the rectangle on the front of the bumper, that is the same circular aluminum tubing molded as a rectangle with the door guards molded on as well to look flush

awesome!
I wanted to do this but same as you, i dont have the intake duct hole through my chassis leg. I may just buy a spare headlight and mould that for trackdays.
