So basicly my oil pan is warped so insted of buying a standard one i'm looking at moroso ones. but a few questions

I run an oil rad so wich of the 2 models would be best the large or the small ?

Whats the diffrence between the 2 models apart from size ?

Will the moroso sumps fit ANY b16 engine because i plan to swap over to a b16b in the near future so don't want to buy it for nothing.

Cheers

Either will be fine. Only difference is capacity. Afaik the moroso sump is based off the deeper p73 sump from b18c/b16b so you may want to get oil pick up off b16b/b18c

and i take it would be a bad idea re using the seal on my sump even though i changed it yesterday ?

I recommend the larger capacity version...esp for track, helps delay oil starvation over the smaller. More oil the better too.

correct

I see just shame to buy the pick up when i'm changing engines in less than 2 months.....

new engine will be a b16b mate so i presume pickup will be different anyway this is why i didnt want to really get the pick up .... lol if you get me ...

^^^hear ya.

but it is easy to swap the pickup in and out.

the larger capacity sump is a bit of a pain with the kickout, bolting it all up. The kick out is the obstacle.

Kickout addition from Moroso...adds another Qt of oil capacity. But does get in the way of the pan bolts when installing. Not a big deal.

The trap doors help keep the oil at the oil pump pick up. Without the correct pickup this pan is not going to work correctly, may even work worse than stock pan.

The Moroso race oil pan for the B-series motor is the absolute best oil pan solution available for your B-series powerplant. This oil pan is a must have if your car pulls more than 1 lateral G. A standard add-in oil baffle or oil pan by other brands in market with such baffles installed will not be sufficient. If you own one of those pans and they seem to be working, then you have one hell of a lucky streak...better hit up the nearest casino while your luck is good.

The Moroso race oil pan not only comes equipped with a pre-installed baffle like the ones mentioned, but it also incorporates a multi-trap door system along with a specially designed oil flow control and baffle system. The trap doors are designed to hold the oil at the sump pick up location and prevent the oil from traveling away during hard cornering and forward accelleration. The oil control flow and baffle system aids in this property of maintaining adequate oil in the optimum location for pick-up and also allows for fast drain back down into the sump area.

The Moroso race pan also has a rear kick out, which benefits the abrupt forward accelleration in drag racing and also allows for a 5 quart oil capacity, instead of the usual 4 quart capacity. Threaded oil bungs are also equipped for ease of turbo oil return line plumbing or for the addition of sensors or other oil system add-on accessories or devices.

Manufactured out of high quality aircraft steel and stamped flange construction just like an OEM Honda oil pan, so you can utilize an OEM Honda oil pan gasket for a perfect pan to block seal. This is the ultimate oil pan for a dedicated race car or serious street car.
