Mattyssb's black caged ITB'd K24 EK9

Pretty sure I got alittle carried away with the grinder. I admit I do like it, but I'll probably regret it
Plus the bonnet didn't really shut (still doesn't with the air filter on) haha :alone:

This is incredible, love the detail and top quality parts going into this. Looking forward to seeing it out on track!

Did you choose ITB's for the purpose of throttle response ?

Yeah. Wasn't planing on making any extra power with them, being a stock build k24 frank
52mm seems ample for what I need.
Not chasing numbers here, what it makes is what it makes.

The US guys seem to go with big ITB's for power but it's normally more top end power for drag race applications where as for a track car you want throttle response and power so these should be ideal. Most Japan time attack cars including the 2.2 s2000's don't run much more than 52mm ITB's

The ideal ITB throttle size is also affected by the distance that the butterfly's are from the ports and the length of the velocity stacks, so some designs will need a bigger throttle than others

TDI also worked with Titan to develop these and they changed the dimensions a few times until they got a setup that worked best

Thats why i was asking if it was for throttle response.. i know you guys in the other side of the pond do more road racing than drag and yes you dont want just peak power. Is more about low end and mid range, so those ITB's are just about right

Exactly right, I don't think that there are many people on here who do any drag racing, it's all about circuit racing or as you say road racing circuits. Mid range grunt and throttle response is what we need to help get the cars out of the corners quicker.. Should still gain a few peak Hp over most Intake plenum setups with these though

Some of the big displacement, high compression, big ITB setups from the US are very impressive!

I'm properly loving this build now!
Soon as the stroker crank(that you dont realise your going to buy yet!) gets fitted it will be like my perfect NA build!

Hahaha "that you don't realise your going to buy yet"
You know me so well hahaha

Literally the only thing that could tempt me from the dark side is a 2.7+L K series on bodies...

Need a Scooby bonnet scoop haha

Had my coolant swirl pot turn up today from TracTuff today
Really good quality kit, comes as "diy" so you can weld it together and fit it where ever you see fit
Should be taking the car down to hardknocksspeedshop sometime soon for some fab work.

Tractuff make some nice and quality stuff..
Good guys and very helpful
Yes sir!
I've binned off the ktuned water plate and electric pump in favour of his version which seems far superior. Especially using a meziere water pump. That should be turning up in a week or so, Ordered last night!
