Sorry mate - the site is staying offline until I can resolve the situation with the Yen. Its dropped to 142 against the £ now. From a solid 225-230 last year. It was down to the high 180's at the beginning of the month.

I think a lot of companies in the UK are in the same boat who deal with either Yen or USD. The USD is now down to 1.55.:((
 
don't suppose you have any higher end front brake discs to clear?

running Endless CCX pads/Spoon 4-pots and they have KILLED my front Dixcel PD discs :((

and to my knowledge ya aint even done a trackday on them :shocked::shocked::shocked:

So you arent taking any orders? I wanted to order while you have the October Sale promotion still running. Need the Spoon EK9 Mounts and fuel filter...

i like to brake quite hard and late and yeah thats just from road use..... although the CCX pads are really harsh and the PD discs are entry level stuff

I may have several sets of Project Mu 6 slotted coming over that are unsold - I take it the pads have loads left?

I am having a meeting today to discuss how we can continue trading with the buying prices going up so much because of the weak £ against the Yen. You are talking about us losing £600 in every 1,000,000 JPY we wire to Japan. It makes more sense to not trade! On the volume we do worldwide you are talking about losing £4500 - £5000 a month:nono:

If you speak to any major importer of product they'll tell you the same thing - we aren't taking any orders for items we don't have in stock until this gets sorted. Trade discount on US product such as AEM have dropped right down to 10-15% due to the sudden weak £ vs US dollar.

I am pretty confident on a solution I've come up with to continue trading from this afternoon. I'll be putting a post up anyhow.

If anyone wants a quick "why has this happened?" answer I am more than happy to give one:)

no explanation needed bazza, economic climate is horrible, businesses like yourself get affected very bad and not much anyone can do

ps - did you ever dig up weight on spoon spoiler ?

Cheers bud. I was meaning more of the "why has the Yen done this?" rather than why have I had to close the store short term.

Site is live again.. Hopefully the Yen will go up tomorrow, I'd hold out your order until then. We now have a system that adjusts the prices easily in SQL by us entering the Yen vs £ exchange rate and USD vs £ for US sourced items.:)

NP bud. Got a lot on order with Hamp at the moment - just being careful with wiring money because of the massive fluctuations in the yen:mad:
