Hey Guys

I got myself a KMH – MPH SPEEDO CONVERTER from Elite International

THESE CONVERTERS ARE MANUFACTURED AND PRODUCED BY THEM SINCE 1998.

They do them for many cars and also delimit you car from the standard speed limit

Easy to install, I will post up my own tech section soon once we finish mine, these also come with a MPH Sticker to cover the KHM one once you have installed the chip

SPEEDO CONVERSION & DELIMIT INSTALLATION DETAILS
MODEL: HONDA CIVIC
CONVERTER: E0021

LOCATION: GEARBOX SPEED SENSOR
Locate the Speed Sensor that is located behind on the top and to the back of the Gearbox and identified by
having a 3pin plug connected to it. Disconnect this plug.

1. Cut the SIGNAL Wire
2. Connect the YELLOW Wire from the Converter to the Signal wire from the Gearbox Sensor Plug
3. Connect the GREY Wire from the Speedo Converter to the Signal wire on the Loom Side
4. Connect the RED Wire to the 12V+ Feed
5. Connect the BLACK Wire to the Earth
6. All Joints must be Soldered

i wanna see how the speedo looks when your finished, cant wait to see the review :nice:
 
ive had several of these converters,simple to fit ,are you doing it on the clocks or into the wires on the gearbox side?
 
Gearbox side, if you just do the clocks it dont remove the limiter :p
 
well ive always done it gearbox side so did nt know that,you should lengthen the wires to make it easier to work on instead of leaning down into the engine bay.
 
yeah thats the plan, and cover it up properly etc :)
 
it removes the factory limiter on the car and also converts the milage and speed to read in mph, a requirement in the UK

Thats top notch mate winner need to get on 2 u guys about the do's and donts of importing some time this month!
 
I got a deresticter when i got my civic but it has 5 wires? It says 1 should go to the ecu? Any ideas?
 
Wait. The UK uses MPH? Didn't know that.

Really you can swap the cluster and make it work too but you lose the cool CTR Cluster. My friend (who so happens to also have a B16 Midori EJ6) put an SiR cluster in his and it reads KPH correctly but he mentally converts it to MPH. I'm just gonna get a USDM Si cluster but for now my USDM EX cluster is fine.
 
excellant info.........i have a friend with an jap import prelude that still shows kph and is restricted to 112mph, As your've said this peice of kit changes the kph to mph and removes the limiter...........does its change what the clock says in kph the cars done in total over its life to mph or not

You have to take the clocks apart and wind them back to what it would be in miles. Thats not to hard to do but you have to be careful not to break anything.
 
how easy is it to clock back the miles yourself? as i've only had stupid quotes of £100 or so to convert the KMH to Miles.


also are the EK9s cable driven or digital. or are there differences in ages etc??

mines a 97
